Last Film You Saw

10 Cloverfield Lane, felt a bit like a zombie film without the zombies, nothing special.

Elvis & Nixon. Really enjoyed it. Its about when Elvis Presley seemingly had a mind fuck and wanted to be made a Federal Agent at Large to go 'undercover' and use his celebrity to get access to Communists and subversives in the film and music industry and snitch on them to the feds. He turned up at the White House to meet Nixon and after a couple of days managed to do it. Kevin Spacey plays Nixon really well and the bloke who plays Nixon (the corrupt copper from Boardwalk Empire) is good too, once you get over the fact he looks fuck all like Elvis at all. The meeting in the White House between the two is bizarre, dramatised but taken from accounts from those involved. Really good watching

Just finished London has fallen, god knows why I watched it, dont know what I expected as Olympus has fallen was shit, the sequel is even worse. Bad acting, bad script, bad effects, cliched plot of nasty Arabs trying to kill everyone, in fact to cut this short everything was bad and not even watching Cockneys getting blown up could save the film. 1/10

Had a nice lazy day and watched two films.

Everest - spectacular film. Hard to imagine how terrifying, yet rewarding that climb must be - 'the mountain makes its own weather!'

Straight Outta Compton - Utterly brilliant. Probably helps if you like the music which I do. I expect the neighbours on the adjacent street were aware of what I was watching; had the Bose soundbar turned right up. Jerry Heller...mmm. Despite liking the work of N.W.A, I had no idea what became of Easy E.
