Last Film You Saw

Suicide Squad .... jury out! Well acted, particularly Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbins with plenty of action and witty one liners but, like much of the DC World of late (Gotham, The Flash etc), far too dark and dismal.

Compared to the Marvel world where the whole cinematography is much brighter and more colourful this feels gloomy throughout and subsequently doesn't make you thirsty for more.

I'd say 7/10

Well, DC are right to persist with the more adult theme of comic book storytelling as an identity. They just need slightly better writers.

Nobody wants DC to mirror Marvel.

What would the point of that, be...?

I agree they do need to keep their own identity and, as you say, more adult orientation but financially I think it's doing them no great favours.

Btw I love 'Gotham' and have seen the route they've opted for with the later Batman films but the gloomier scenarios and rain swept scenes can be hard going for 2 hours plus!

Alice through the looking glass.
Visually a great watch, simple enough plot (never read the book fully), but a fun way to spend nearly a couple of hours and entertained the kids well on the Sat am cheapo tickets.
