Last Film You Saw

The Wolf of Wall Street is on Film 4 now. To put it mildly, I'm not a Di Caprio fan. Can't stand the fucker, to be honest. But this is, sort of, passable. Ish. And, of course, Margot Robbie (the duchess of Bay Ridge). Grrrr.

Moonlight 6.5/10.

You think it's going to be a classic up until it finishes and you're left disappointed.

It's worth a watch but I thought La La Land should have beat it to the Oscar... Sorry Rogue One should have beat it to the Oscar.

William (The Exorcist) Friedkin's 'The Wages Of Fear', aka 'Sorcerer' (1977). Remake of a 50's classic that is quite possibly better than the original.

Four strangers, each on the run for their lives, end up in a squalid existence in a despotic republic. Each of the four backstories would make a great film, but they are just the appetiser for the main story, each man seeing a chance for freedom when a callous western Oil executive seeks men to drive a large amount of TNT made unstable by poor storage. The four swap punishing labour and local corruption for a journey into tension, as they battle elements and the landscape to reach their goal.

Watch it for the relentless tension of the second half, but honestly, the production is brilliant from start to finish. So much going on. Under-rated at 7.7 on IMDB.

Saw it a few weeks ago. Brilliant film split into parts. I read recently that the part Roy Scheider played was intended for Kris Kristofferson, who would have been good too

Thought this was well funny despite the bad reviews 7/10
