Last Film You Saw

Just watched this.

Good rather than brilliant for me. Couple of holes in the plot line that annoyed me a bit.

But enjoyable all the same. Decent film.
That's how I felt. Didn't think it was Clint's best work but it was a good courtroom drama and it's nice that they still make movies like this occasionally!

Last night watched Lola. Not quite sure if I liked it or not.
Then watched Nightmare Alley. As always with del Toro films the look was outstanding. It did drag a bit in the middle but overall pretty good.

I am Sam. Sean Penn plays a mentally impaired guy who struggles to keep custody of his daughter, Dakota Fanning, with Michelle Pfeiffer as the lawyer, so bloody good, 8.5/10
Watched this last night after your review, really enjoyed it, thanks. Your score is spot on!

Have you seen the directors cut, slightly disturbing the relationship I can see why it was trimmed down for the public.
I first saw that movie when I was very young and I have to say back then I found it uncomfortable, saw it again a few years later and it all made sense why I found it disturbing as a kid. The entire movie, even the edited one is just messed up.

A Working Man, typical Jason Statham fair 5/10
Dune Part 2, looks and sounds amazing, really looking forward to part 3, 8/10
Managed to stay for 10 minutes. I couldn't stand it when he walked over to help the workmate that was being bullied by 2 Latin gang members. I would have been fired up about that scene back in 1996, its played out now.

Fell asleep watching The Electric State last night.
Fell asleep watching Rebel Moon Part 1 the night before that.

Gave Captain America Brave New World a shot. I'm not a marvel fan at the best of times but my God this was boring, dull as fuck, didn't finish it.

How's everybody's ranking 2025 so far?

1. Sinners
2. Mickey 17
3. Black Bag
4. Captain America: Brave New World
5. Babygirl
6. A Minecraft Movie
7. Snow White

I've missed a few; Flight Risk, The Monkey, Companion, Bridget Jones 3, Last Breath, In the Lost Lands, Novocaine, Opus, the Woman in the Yard, the Amateur.

Planning on watching Death of a Unicorn and Drop soon.

Honestly think Sinners is the only good/great movie I've watched at the cinema so far this year. Mickey 17 was decent but not a scratch on Joon Ho's best.

The Two Popes, really enjoyed it and very topical 5/10
Going to watch Warfare tomorrow heard some good things about it and it deserves to be watched in a cinema.

A Complete Unknown and September 5 are very good. Companion and Last Breath were also good.

Warfare, just wow probably best war film since Saving Private Ryan, should definitely win an Oscar for sound design 8.5/10
