Last Film You Saw

(Re)Watched 6th Sense ("I can see dead people") with Bruce Willis - when he had hair - as a Child Psychologist helping a troubled kid. Very good. Wife hadn't seen it before and thought it was excellent. She says an 8/10.

The only problem I have with that film is that you can see the twist within 15 minutes. My Mrs and I went to see it at the cinema and I whispered to her I knew the ending. I wrote her a note to prove to her what was happening. She read it afterwards and was amazed. I have the same problem with a lot of his films. The twist is usually very predictable

Yeah I also guessed the twist. I also guessed the twist to the usual suspects which was a surprise as I went to watch that thinking it was a vampire movie

Even in Die Hard?
:-)

40 Acres
Watched it on the plane. Ok to chip away at the time of 13 hour journey but not classic….

Also watched Spy Games on the same flight. That was good

Also tried the new Naked Gun, but gave up after 10 minutes

I knew you were going to say that.

Moving on.
Jane Fonda,Lily Tolman and Malcolm McDowell.Gentle comedy in which I enjoyed.
Fonda and Tolman try to kill McDowell after meating up at McDowells wife funeral.
Lily Tolman is great as usual
A movie I enjoyed something completely different for me. All been done before but never thought of switching off once. 7.

Watched The Machinist (2004) with a skeletal Christian Bale (He lost 28kg for the role) as insomniac who “hasn’t slept for a year” and is slowly mentally and physically coming apart. Interesting and enjoyable film - if a bit dark. 7/10

Also “the Young Offenders” about two “scally” teenage lads in Cork trying to get rich quick. Very funny in parts, but missed some bits of dialogue due to their accents ! Well worth a watch. Harmless fun 7.5/10
(Just found out this was turned into a series - will definitely be taking a look at that)

I like Me a documentary on John Candy, I didn’t realise how many stars he worked with in the early days, it was like a who’s who of 80s Canadian comedians/actors. Seemed a really genuine guy and sadly died far too young.

Watched the latest Fantastic 4 movie. It was ok. Not a lot made sense if you think about it and I did spend too much time thinking about stuff which is probably a bad sign - like:

1) the baby doesn't seem to age appropriately
2) silver surfer travelled faster than light and survived getting sucked into a black hole. The stress on her body she endured without putting a hair out of place made it ridiculous that she could get punched
3) did Jonny just have 10 minutes of oxygen in his suit or did the 10 minutes reset every time he flamed off?
4) what exactly was Galactus deal? man kept talking about being hungry but no idea why he was doing what he was doing and why he couldnt stop it even though it was clear he wanted to stop hence why he wanted the baby. Plus this is some kind of mech suit he's in right? Plus Jonny did a fair amount of damage in his ship and they blew a hole in it to escape so why not just attempt to nuke it? Why couldn't Galactus also then re-engage his tractor beam?
5) Galactus had no reason to leave his ship for the final boss battle
6) silver surfer had no reason to know what the F4 plan was so how did she no how to thwart it AND those explosions contained pretty toxic elements i bet. Good one F4 - now everyone is dead
7) you don't save energy by not using it unless you put it into massive batteries. Didn't seem like they did that and surely Grimm was in the loop to know when the power was going off so shouldn't have been mid shave
8) is moving a planet really like moving an egg? I dont think so
9) does Jonny Storm not get hot when he flames on? surely he's burning to death some of those people he's rescuing?
10) Stupidest thing - it isn't the F4's first steps - they are already established super heroes with their powers and have been for 4 years. So are they Franklin's first steps? You never see him walk once! He's a crawling baby then he's 4 reading origin of the species. good job movie
11) how pregnant exactly is Sue Storm - seems pretty irresponsible to let her go to space when she's in labour. Someone's actual job was also to animate the robot bringing her a blanket to cover her legs after she's given birth.
12) Galactus goes past several planets to get to earth. Why's he not eating them? What's he eating them for anyway?

it was ok i guess
