Has anyone noticed that every other thread today is about the Hamburg tie?

Nearly three weeks before the game, too

It's a while since there was this much excitement about a City game.

What does everyone think the last game everyone got as excited for was?

The munich derby had a lot of hype but it was more about supporter behaviour. I for one never really expected anything but a heavy defeat.

The Blackburn cup Quarter was a bit like that for me. I never expected us to win at all.

I would say the West Ham Quarter final a few years ago was the last one. And what a disappointment that was.

It appears that this will be the only UEFA cup game I'l have to miss. To say I'm pissed off is an understatement.

Last time we played in England, the draw was made in early September and the late was late November. Thank God we don't have to wait that long this time round!

this is the first time i feel like everyone is up for the cup. The previous rounds have been a little dissapointing with the low turnout but i feel people are taking it serious now we are at the business end of things. Would love to bring home the trophey for the last home game of the season, send bolton down too ha-ha ;)

Scum away last year. Couldn't wait for our fans to shut them, the press, the government and the world up!

Blackburn and West Ham in the cup, got pretty excited about the also only to be left deflated and extremely angry/upset!

that west ham game was the turning point imo for Pearce he lost the fans after that against a West Ham team that were there for the taking

i agree the west ham game was huge. apparently we sold 30,000 tickets in he first 2 days but not that much more turned up. in the mary ds before the game n the place was buzzin. good atmosphere but poor performance. i am getting very excited about this game now.
