Booked on this last train back from Euston tonight (11pm)

In previous visits to the Emirates I’ve always gone for a Pint or three in the Drayton Arms after the game to allow the queues to ease but that isn’t an option this time. So for those with experience of getting away from Arsenal straight after the game what do you recommend? I know the queues at Arsenal tube station are ridiculous so which of Finsbury Park or Highbury and Islington would be a better bet and would it be necessary to leave early or would a dash at the final whistle be ok?

Thanks in advance for any help and for anyone also travelling and not aware this train is a dry train so bear in mind if you buy a few cans the police may take great joy in taking it off you to use at their Christmas party tomorrow

I'd suggest Finsbury Park - I think it's closer and has two tube lines, although you'll have to to walk to Euston from the Piccadilly at Kings Cross.

Tube journey is about 10-15 minutes, so an hour really ought to be fine. I'll add that I have no experience of post-match queues and delays there.

In the past I have done the same as you, I have also walked back to Euston after the final whistle or just gone straight for the tube. To get to Euston in the shortest time after the final whistle tonight I would walk.
We are stopping over for a few beers and getting the train back AM.

Must admit that I didn't realise there was a train back home that late - assumed last one back during the week was 10-ish - so I could've done this match after all.

OP, according to Google maps you can actually walk it back to Euston in 51 minutes!

Edit - looks like I've been beaten to the punch on the walking idea lol

Never actually considered walking but seems a pretty straightforward route back even in the dark. Might be the preferred option that way I can stay till the end and the 51 mins it states to walk is probably quite generous too so should be back at Euston in ample time. Thankyou.

The best way back to Euston after the match is to walk up Hornsey Road to where it meets Tollington Road (one way traffic going left by Waitrose), jump on the #253 Bus - Euston or the #29 to Warren Street, all buses going down Camden Road go through Camden Town. All buses going down the cally (Caledonian road) go through Kings X

Fuck Finsbury Park station off as last week they introduced the Oyster Card barriers on all 3 entrances n thus its now like trying to get in Ajax stadium!!!

Or from Highbury & Islington jump on the #30 Bus - Euston

Holloway Road station isn't too bad depending on amount of people using the lifts though best bet is to bomb it down the stairs (Piccadilly line - Kings X)

If you don't fancy any of the above then its much easier to jump in a cab from where Tollington Road meets Holloway Road and gives time for a few jars at Euston!

Is is that bad at Arsenal tube? I've queued straight afterwards and generally got on one within 5 minutes or so.

Do some cut throughs and I bet you can walk to Euston in 45 mins. Nice n healthy (and never out of sight of a corner shop), see some stuff along the way.
