I used to be a son of the desert at The Marble Arch in Collyhurst which was known as the Bacon Grabbers tent every third wednesday of the month. Sat in the back room with about a dozen other sons watching old clips and having a pint or three then we'd all sing the sons of the desert with the grand sheikh at the end. Thinking of joining the sailors beware up in Hyde at the cheshire ring I think its held.

Love the boys and have a nice growing collection of memorabilia on them.
have you bin up to ulverston blue.

On many occasions mate, first went up there in the mid 80's when the museum was only a small room and met the original fella who set it up Bill Cubin and always take in a pint at the Stan Laurel pub, me and the wife also went to Stoke for the boxing day fancy dress as Stan and Ollie. Got a lovely complete set of trading cards in a binder, only 500 made and a couple of hologram ones where even less were made of the boys from America. They really are beautiful double sided cards and when laid out the back of them complete rare billboard posters of their films in various european countries. Been collecting their stuff for years mate.

ive got a few videos of stan and olly,
also been to Ulverston to the museam, well worth a visit.but what i enjoyed most was taking my at the time,7yrs old daughter to the Stockport Plaza, where they played a double bill of the boys.fantastic...

I did the same thing with my daughter, loved the way the old organ came up out of the floor :-)

The museum isn't the house where Stan used to live but he did live on Argyll Street in Ulverston and there is a plaque outside to commemorate it.

"Soda, soda, soda. And what will you have Stanley?"

Loving it especially when Stan drinks the whole soda because his half was on the bottom :-)

Did you also know the phrase 'Another Fine Mess' was never actually said by Ollie in any of they're films.

They've done fuck all worthy of mention in the last few years though, have they?
