Lautaro Martinez

I'm not sure Lautaro is the answer for the striker problem, but he's definitely worth a punt. I think he is more technical and far more suitable for possession football than Haaland, who is essentially a Fernando Torres with a better shot. And he's better than Jesus, have little doubt about it - Lautaro equals GJ in link-up play and pressing, whilst being a much more talented finisher.

As for the Aguero comparisons - I'd describe him as some mix of Serge and Tevez, he has the drive and aggression of the latter.

Lautaro is far from ideal, but there are very few suitable CFs on the market currently. And Inter are ready to sell.

Yeah..I'm not sold on Lautaro as our Sergio replacement.

If there currently arn't any world class ready made available strikers out there, would prefer Haaland in that spot or even Havertz up front than Lautaro. Since if it doesn't work out you could rotate him across our attacking line up & Havertz seems pretty ruthless in scoring goals.

To be fair if we have signed Torres as a Sane replacement, I’m not sure we need Martinez. It sounds like Aguero is signing a 12 month extension so he’s here for another 2 seasons. Jesus is better - better spend the money on a stellar CB and LB.

He's not remotely close to Gabby in terms of link up play.
Look at their pass completion for a start,
Martinez - 63%
Jesus - 87%(only Benzema 86% comes close when looking at Europe's top teams out and out strikers)
Gabby has triple the amount of assists
Gabby is dispossessed less

Also not a much more talented finisher

Martinez has 3.8 shots per game and has 13 goals.
Gabby has 2.9 shots per game and has 12 goals.

Martinez is offside more, so imagine the matchday threads.
