I have just watched quite an interesting interview Steve Harmison conducted with his sporting hero King Kev.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsxLFMvsnMQ Part 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIVyBK7N1sc Part 2

In this interview, Kev talks about the characters needed in a squad for it to win things and "get over the line". His belief is you need at least 5 "Leaders" for a team to flourish, Its the reason he brought in Kevin Kilbane to Newcaastle. It wasn't for his playing ability, but that he can sort out the dressing room, and lead on the pitch for others to perform.

So the questions I'm putting out there are

Who are our "Leaders" in the team/squad? (Do we have 5?)

Do you believe that Pellers brought in MDM for his leadership qualities over his abilities* to compliment our squad

(* Let me just clarify that I am not knocking MDM abilities and saying he's not good enough or he's crap, merely did Pellers identify he needed a character he trusted and had leadership qualities in that position, then looked for the best technically able player he could find with those qualities)

Leaders from back to front:

Hart
Zabba
Vinnie
Yaya
Silva
Aguero

Possibly Ferna as well.

Able deputies:

MDM
Beast
Nasri

Are you sure you're not just listing excellent players there? In terms of true leadership, I'd say Kompany, Zabaleta and Yaya would be my only definites. I think we do lack in this department.

I think you mean Brian Kilcline?

One thing ive noticed recently is our naivety in games

We need to learn when to slow a game right down, whether it be time-wasting or 'buying' free kicks when were under pressure

Chelsea's performance at Liverpool was hilarious for it, but we need to take note and apply certain parts of their game to our own game

Neither of them have leadership qualities though IMO...totally different from respect
