League cup draw - United (a)

Did the club ever respond to why they were letting anyone join the cup scheme even after the draw?

Not replied to my queries. I still don't understand how the criteria is so high for this game given the allocation if they didn't allow this.

They did allow this. Lad knows 2 who have both got tickets this way and had emails confirming. Doesnt seem fair but they have allowed it.

Not sure but the seats would have to be in the same stand as us to be considered "equivalent". Also, if they offer a discount to members and we pay more as a result I'm pretty sure they're allowed to do that.
Our adult s/card holders are paying less than most adult rag members for this game. The only cheaper seats I can see in the home sections are for their "singing section" in the Stretford End lower tier at £31, the rest are from £38 to £53. Interestingly they still haven't put the top tier of the GPC stand on sale yet.

That's interesting about the top tier... now that would be funny if they couldn't sell out

i sent a message to supporters services on sept 29 asking them about the cup scheme being available, this was it

"hello, can you confirm yes or no,if people are still able to join the the league cup scheme ??? Im already on all 3 ,my son who is 9 is not,, yet in his online account he is still able to join, are others too ? if so a utter joke and mockery of us lot who signed up before the season started ! "

their answer

"No, the scheme closed on 31st August. Anybody who joins online after this date will be removed "

I asked again

"
why is it available then ?,,,why not just " remove " the option to join ?
the champions league scheme is not there to join so why is the league cup one still there ? "

they did not reply

And their singing section seats aren't equivalent seats to ours so nothing to see here. I'll call United out where I see fit but personally I think £37 & £38 is a decent price for this game. I was expecting to pay upwards of £40 and weren't 'Boro and Ipswich charged that for their League Cup games there last season?

As for that top tier of the North Stand not being on sale yet, it would be rather amusing if it indeed doesn't get opened. There are still thousands of seats available in other areas of the ground so it's possible that they won't open it!
