Do not disagree about English referees being inept, especially compared to officials from other top leagues.

But it was brought in under pressure from fans seeing it implemented elsewhere. However, because totally unbiased, accurate officiating would threaten the business model of the PL, they were forced in to modifying VAR so that it is the least effective version of itself, open to the most manipulation possible.

It does obviously have some advantages ie offsides, Zaha at weekend etc.

But I agree with absolutely everything you've put there. I assume we won't be seeing any of our officials at major tournaments, not only because they're not good enough, but because they won't be able to use VAR the same as everyone else is.
