League Cup QF Draw - Oxford United (A)

Just looked at the fixtures available for the quarters, us, Rags and Everton all play on the Sunday before due to TV and Europa Thursday games. Weekend after, City and Everton are on TV Saturday v Leicester and Arsenal respectively whilst the Rags have a Sunday game v Watford.

We could play on Tuesday televised
Everton v Leicester Wednesday
Rags on Thursday

Alternatively we could play on Wednesday, no TV coverage.

Two ties on TV? Which two??

Oxford v City
United v Colchester
Villa v Liverpool
Everton v Leicester

I think ours is 4th choice whichever way Sky looks at it ...
Away at a lower league team and the chance of an upset.
I'd say we are 1st choice for tv

Wednesday it is, then.

thought they were only allowed to show two, by the terms of their contract
Could be, was under the impression that had shown 3 in previous years. If that’s the case they may just show 1, the Rags obviously and sane the other for whenever the Dippers play.
Edit
Just looked at last years quarters and there were two games on two nights so you are probably correct. Can’t see us being televised but should be on a Wednesday.

The dippers will get to play whenever they want to , the organisers will bend over backwards to help them .

the only possible solution you could see for Liverpool, is that they play there PL game v watford on the Friday night, which would mean moving SU v Villa to the same time, with the cup game on the Monday the 16th before their first game in qatar on the 18th.

Can see villa being accommodating, it's a big incremental gate for them & they will really fancy their chances against that line up last night. Watford and Sheffield well within their rights to tell everyone to fuck off
