This is obviously where the club and fans differ. For me the league is number 1, this season, next season, the season after that, etc, etc but the club want the CL probably above all else. They see it as the thing that makes City an elite club. The only, very slight, black mark on this season was last week when anyone who has been a City fan for any decent length of time wanted to beat them lot but the club, and Pep, had the dippers has the bigger game.

its what i thought, for all us fans its the league all day long but i suspect for the owners its the champions league, i just hope i can stick around long enough to see us lift the campions league being an old fucker i reckon 10 yrs tops

The league. That is the true test of Champions. The CL is just a knockout competition that is frequently won by teams that are far from being the best team even in their own country.

League Titles is the most important thing plus the FA cup and League cups, we need to kick on and build upon our successes as great teams will do, I would love to see City win the Champions League but it might take some years [ 3-5 ] before we land that one.............

The Champions League is beyond reach because UEFA won’t allow us to compete whether it’s FFP, FFP2, fixed draws or corrupt and premeditated refereeing decisions. In a cup competition they only need to fuck us in one game to knock us out as we saw without the two disallowed goals and none penalty decisions against Liverpool, topped off with their first goal at Anfield being offside. At least in the league if they do it like they did against United at home we’re still good enough to overcome it over the course of a season.
