Still league, we are yet to retain and that is a MUST, especially given the gap between us and the rest.

I think next year will be closer, easier for other teams to improve than us. However, we should be able to push on!

Once we have retained the CL has to come into it. I believe the club feels we should get 5 trophies every 5 years, that 2 should be leagues, 2 cups and 1 CL.

This is the cycle that creates an elite club both commercially and in structure.

A CL win is of paramount importance for City making the next step.

If we don't win the Champions League then it's likely to be a club from a different league that wins it, e.g. Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. I can deal with that.

If we don't win the league, we will probably have to listen to the rags or dippers bang on about their history accompanied by an unbearable media love-in telling us about how they earned their success.
