There appears to be some confusion here. Look at our squad. One great goalie another good one out on loan. Not one quality right back in the club, not one quality centre half in the club, not one quality left back. Possibly two quality central midfield players. Two, possibly 3 quality forwards. We lose bridge, lescott, ireland, johnson and RSC to injury and Toure and Ade to the ANC and suddenly we have no one to bring in to rest Barry, Dejong, Tevez and Bellers. I have screamed that we needed to have been far busier and astute in the last 3 transfer windows, I hope Mancini will be allowed to bring in the players to allow us to create real competition, more importantly keep our players fresh, because teams that are succesfull on even a domestiv level could be looking at playing 52 competative games in a season. Champions league would add hopefully at least another 14 games so thats 66 competative games. Our current squad depth in terms of quality is painfully thin. It has been a long time since we were a competative force and things have changed
Chelski's second string would be

now us
Taylor, ned, kompany, boyata, garrido, viera, weiss, ibrahim, benjani, and thats it, so its safe to say that we are deluding ourselfs with the "he'll do" attitude, because once we are past the first 16 there's almost no quality and what we needed was the true ability to rest some key performers, but still be up for an important game and reality the players should have been rested against fat sam, but because our team is so waifer thin Mancinni couldn't.
