We certainly seem to be reaching a/the tipping point, don’t we?!
From my viewpoint, it seems to me that there is enough room for everyone…because it was ALWAYS like this, even at Maine Road!
To me, there was a definite “stepping up” system even at Maine Rd.
Want a cheap ticket, to sing, be able to be with a few mates, maybe shuffle down towards whichever end we were kicking (if you are not a hard core “this is my spot!” kinda fan)? Then, you can stand with your friends and our most raucous fans in the Kippax, no matter your age, knowing there will be enough space for everyone in your party!
Prefer a covered seat behind the goal, sir? Not a problem, no matter how little you think you have. We have the best value seats available anywhere, with our plank seats in the Platt Land End. They’re always warm and dry and you’ll stay out of the elements.
Perhaps you’d like an inch or two more leg and elbow room and a flexible plastic seat (though there’s a good chance you’ll get wet when it rains!) with unrestricted views? We’ve got just the thing for you with our new, slightly more expensive, seats in the North Stand.
A man of means, are you? Well then, we have just what you desire. You can upgrade to one of our gentlemen’s seats in the Main Stand. You will have access to the ground from the main forecourt, with better, covered eating and drinking opportunities (no running down to the Bovril man on the cinder track or standing in line in the rain for you, sir!). It is a wholly more civilized experience with other men of your age and standing. You might even run into an old player or celebrity and you’ll never get wet at the game.
So, what’ll it be, sir?!
:-)
To me, City have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity now they’re finishing the stadium. There needs to be a clear and obvious delineation for fans…
There are enough spaces in the stadium that we should be able to accommodate all ticket pricing levels, such that at least HALF of the match day tickets on a 60,000 capacity stadium in “fan-friendly” pricing and there are plenty of “corporate, well-heeled, better services and seat quality” seats available.
