Ledley King

Wonder if you could get a team together of players that can only play once a week/every other game

You'd have King at the back and Bellers up front.

Shame he's got the legs of Stephen Hawking then.

xD

He would have been one of the best yeah, you see glimpses of it but before you can blink he is hobbling of with his dodgy knees. Damn shame for England really. I do feel Spurs are silly to keep him though, we could barely afford such a luxury player so how they can i do not know. I fully expect this to bite them on the arse though after new year when injuries start to kick in. Leaving Spurs with someone they would rather they didn't have to play, as the squad is not very good in depth is it defensively imo.
If Spurs had him on a pay as you play also that would soften the blow of having a crock but he is on a normal contract which i find crazy since Levy is a tight cnut with the company cash.
If they can get a decent run of games out of him that would vindicate Spurs choice to keep him also but i won't hold my breath.

As a person he is a fucking twat who suffers from NBPE (not been punched enough)

Saw an interview with Thierry Henry the other day and he said King was the best he played against and was the only defender who he thought could get the better of him. It's a shame that when he was fit, he played in some pretty average Spurs teams. It's only now that he's actually got a decent DM in front of him and reliable GK behind him that football fans at large are beginning to realise just how good he is. When he played for England as a youngster he was MOTM on several occassions, yet Sven would always revert back to either Rio, Campbell or Terry, which just seemed so unfair. He's been the best English CB for years, but is only getting plaudits now, when he's not the player he was.

If wasn't for a combination of his knees' and having Redknapp as his manager, he would be the best English defender at the moment.

What's wrong with Redknapp as Spurs manager?

He has the best statistics of any Tottenham manager since we joined the Football League in 1908:

Played 115 Won 57-Drawn 29-Lost 29 F180-A134 Points Won: 200 PPG: 1.74

He always been a top manager, now he has better players it's no surprise to me that spurs are pushing for top 4/3 spot I think if that squad yesterday has no injuries it could push for top spot! How good is spurs back up in midfield?
