I don't recall him playing well early on. In fact iirc he was awful. Even pre-season he was bad.
I seem to recall going to Burnley for a pre-season friendly Amd watching him score a thirty minute first half Hatrick. He was subbed off to rapturous applause.

I remember before his very first game for City his Sergeant in the army was quoted as saying "I hope he's a better footballer than a marksman"
He played well on his debut. once saw him and Nick Weaver and Lee Peacock absolutely Paralytic in a restaurant called Mash and Air near the gay village - spoke to Lee and he was nervous as hell.
Was it Lee Peacock who the Goat said on his first day at the club, when introduced to the rest of the team, the first thing he asked was "which day do all the players go out on the piss"
Garbage amongst a lot of garbage we have paid top dollar for. If you thought he was bad Laurie Cunningham ran him a very close second.

Bradbury scored a hat trick on his debut. If you count his debut as a friendly against Burnley!
Who thought buying him would be a good idea? He only had one professional season and before that he was playing for Cows on the Isle of White! Especially when, towards the end of the previous season we looked to have found a good system with Rosler upfront and Kinkladze just behind him
