He was booked for persistent infringement

He committed 4 fouls in the first half, the first foul was harsh but the rest all nailed on

Erm, no, the one he was booked for was a perfectly legitimate jump for a header, but Wickham backed in under him and then fell down clutching his back

That was collocini iirc and that was a well deserved yellow!

Colocini kneed Fletcher in the back right at the start, and you're right it was a well deserved booking. Tiote's was later in the first half, on Wickham, and was exactly as I described, with both players needing treatment. He had gotten away with a couple early in the game, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the challenge he did get his yellow for

Still got his yellow for persistent infringement rather than for the foul itself.
Whether or not it was a foul I'd have to see it again

At the risk of a bit of Christmas pedantry, whether it was for persistent infringement or not, it was still awarded incorrectly, because the challenge on Wickham wasn't a bloody foul! But either way, not the worst decision in the world; just one from a referee with previous......

Merry Christmas

Fair enough!

either way the ref knew what he was doing.

dont be surprised a bid for him coming in.... from the rags.

Ordinarily, I'd like to think the FA might prefer to steer clear of the potential for controversy that might go with handing either Mason or Taylor a Manchester derby, because, all joking apart, Taylor is a rag from a family of rags and Mason is a Bolton fan whose family is predominated by rags. However, I never thought Mason would ever be allowed to referee the rags at all, and yet there he is doing it. Both of them are utter bastards whenever they referee City (something else they shouldn't be allowed to do IMO), and regardless of whether that has been due to coincidence, conscious bias, or unconscious bias, I would hope we would protest behind the scenes if that particular doomsday scenario was ever mooted!

Re: "Lee Mason. Oh Dear"

He was shocking again today in the Everton v Stoke game. Walters should've had a red, and Bojan's penalty was extremely soft.

Not too popular on the blue half of Merseyside, as you can imagine:

Hopefully a demotion is forthcoming.

From what I seen he ensured a Stoke win.

Why though?

I'm not suggesting there was an ulterior motive, just plain incompetence.

It just makes me wonder how these referees get so many things wrong. Even the European refs seem to be getting it wrong now, surely we can't think this of all referees?

I'd say more homer than incompetence but the homer piece is more about the team.
