Exited about this one!
The big question for me today is will Pep stick with Ake /Laporte or will Dias be getting his firs outing?
I would stick with Ake personally today as he’s done well so far and Dias has had v little time to adjust to our system. I also wouldn’t think it’s necessary to throw him in at the deep end against one of the most freely attacking outfits in this league.
On the other hand a good debut would be excellent for confidence...
What do you guys think?

I wonder if that suggests Dias could start. Maybe the extra session was to give him a bit more time to get used to our style and his new team mates?

I thought Pep's comments suggested Dias might start. He predictably ended with a "you'll have to wait and see" comment but before he was talking about how he was match fit, how he'd already had some really good training sessions, was part of the team, "got it" etc.

I think we will bounce back emphatically today and we will all be much more confident about the season ahead.

it’s going to be a funny season and there’s still room for Liverpool to regress over the course of time

Ederson
Walker Dias Laporte Ake
KDB Bernardo Foden
Mahrez Sterling Torres

Ake pushing into a DM position when we have the ball. Keep the other 3 defenders as a compact unit. We don't have great attacking options at FB at present so let them defend, rather than them being upfield where they contribute little. Our DMs don't have the legs/mobility to be very effective in defence and contribute little to the attack, sometimes leaving us a bit short on creativity going forward.

The 3 in midfield and 3 upfront should have the energy and mobility to press hard which will make up for not having an out and out DM and all can create and score. Give Leeds something to worry about and when they counter, we will always have at least 4 competent defensive players back to snuff it out.

i liked this double training session. This is how we have to regain that winning mentality. Remember after we had won the league pep was pushing players with strict training regime, the result was - 100 points.
Now we have to win 19 games in a row and break our previous record.
Come on city fans.
Lets do this petition of 19 continuous wins.

I'd like to see Bernardo replace one of Fernandinho or Rodri in the midfield. He's got the dynamism and stamina to play in a 3 or in a double pivot.

Is he about to do something stupid?

No, I think he is probably very pissed off at the Leicester performance and perhaps feels we need to train harder so we're fitter and better at closing down. No more slow, lethargic half-arsed bollocks. The PL is 100mph blood & thunder, we have to match that.

I really hope Pep picks a team to play to our strengths and not to negate the opposition.

I fear some Pep madness with something crazy. Hopefully nothing as bad as Lyon.
