Leeds Thread (Merged)

Anyone see this on Paddy Power's Twatter page?

All put on by the same punter as well, in separate bets (not an accumulator, unfortunately). By my dodgy maths, that's £1,356 return for £30 in bets. Not bad.

Been to Elland Road today and very surprised that Leeds played well. No quie Premier League class but decent football and a buzzing atmosphere.

The have moved on leaps and bounds from my last once a year visit (supporting Ipawich) six months ago.

Back to the Etihad to see top quality football tomorrow!

Good win 4 Leeds today .
It looks like will be ok this season .
Huddersfield look really poor this season .

Home or away, Leeds was always an occasion. And for a while in the early 90's, they had one of the best young teams in Europe. I miss seeing them in the fixture list. Never, though, have I seen a club turn to shit so quickly. Wtf happened?

Edit: Just googled it. Turns out it wasn't relying on one revenue stream that fucked em. Moyes was kit man from 94'-96'. Say no more.

Spent money they didn't have, chasing the dream. The fact they actually qualified for the CL (got to the s/f didn't they?) was the worst thing that happened to them. It gave Ridsdale and O'Leary the belief that they were on the brink of something massive (sniff!). They eneded up nearly bankrupting the club. In the end they had to sell the stars and they simply didn't have the wedge to replace them with quality. Hence they were truly shit for, what, 4 or 5 seasons on the run which saw them drop to the real third division (aided by points deductions for going into liquidation). Couldn't happen to a nicer club.

Actually, it could happen to one nicer club.

Go on then Jim,I'll bite who?

I knew Ridsdale during this period and he was a top bloke. No ego and a did a lot of good stuff outside football. Felt he got a rough deal over what happened at Leeds.

Three coaches since the start of the season now; Hockaday, Redfearn (caretaker) and Milinich. Redfearn back as caretaker again. Talk about a shambles; if they're not careful, they'll beat that season when we had 4 managers!
