bit inbred but always guarentee 3k coming to the ground and a healthy lancs/yorks banter, they always create a good atmosphere(when its not kicking off) also i like the "MARCHING ON TOGETHER " song

Anybody know the origins of why Leeds fans use this particular song as their "signature song"?It seems a bit strange to have as a football chant/song.
I don't particularly like it,I was just curious as to why they sing it.

Never had grief at Klanfield. Hard to believe but I've never had grief at the Bridge either. The swamp on the other hand - well, what do you expect? Leeds pretty much the same.

It was a FA Cup Final song recorded by the team in the 70's.

Always despised them, most scary night of my life was walking back to the station after the FA cup win when they invaded the pitch.

although football fighting is no longer like it once was you're right there.

No CCTV
Dibble running away or stood watching.
Stewards virtually non existent.
No segregation at times at all.
No bouncing up and down behind lines of hi vis jackets to protect you.

Scary fucking days sometimes which will never be forgotten. Some places were like war zones with mobs of cunts tooled up with all sorts of shit.

Leeds one of the worst.

The Leeds supporters organisation started it to try and eradicate the rascist element that followed the club, and then started standing beside the sellers of National Front propaganda (Bulldog and I think it was The Flag) on the forecourt of helland road and slowly but surely the rascists stopped openly selling their hatred.

Though as has been said, in the '70's a lot of clubs (including City) had a right wing element amongst its support

Derby get better home support than Leeds.

To go as a father and son it costs £72, thousands have been put off by prices. Leicester and Derby run schemes to get people into the ground, whereas Ken thinks of schemes to keep people away. Like many felt on Saturday, TV games are a relief. We might get to one a month whereas we used to go every week before the lad turned 16. Bates just says tough titty and is more worried about people abusing concessions than actually getting folk in the ground...
