Anybody know the origins of why Leeds fans use this particular song as their "signature song"?It seems a bit strange to have as a football chant/song.
I don't particularly like it,I was just curious as to why they sing it.

It was a FA Cup Final song recorded by the team in the 70's.

Always despised them, most scary night of my life was walking back to the station after the FA cup win when they invaded the pitch.

35 years ago..... i d say those fans have moved on. back in the 70`s all clubs were at it.

The Leeds supporters organisation started it to try and eradicate the rascist element that followed the club, and then started standing beside the sellers of National Front propaganda (Bulldog and I think it was The Flag) on the forecourt of helland road and slowly but surely the rascists stopped openly selling their hatred.

Though as has been said, in the '70's a lot of clubs (including City) had a right wing element amongst its support

To go as a father and son it costs £72, thousands have been put off by prices. Leicester and Derby run schemes to get people into the ground, whereas Ken thinks of schemes to keep people away. Like many felt on Saturday, TV games are a relief. We might get to one a month whereas we used to go every week before the lad turned 16.
