My first City away match was at Elland Road, it must have been late 50's or very early 60's. I can't remember much about the game but I do remember reading the signs above the turnstile entrances - "Beware of thieves and pickpockets".

I remember driving there in a Morris minor and there was a sign freshly painted on a bridge....welcome to hell. ...
