Leeds United (A) Post Match Thread

Positives to take there boys, can see we’re not fully fit hence why were playing in patches, 20 mins here and there, no pre season and only 13 fit, we will put it together once fully up to speed.

Partnership at the back is promising and looks imposing, we’d of won that with Aguero or Jesus tonight, get Cancelo fit and in at LB and we’ll be reet imo.
Not such a bad point after all eh? Not many will take anything there this season.

Said same in transfer thread. Liverpool have had Leeds, Arsenal and Chelsea, games that demand being up for it. There was always going to be a come down, just didn’t expect a total collapse. There’ll be more. Today has thrown the whole thing open, mid 80s might win it.

Honestly, who knows?

A closer title race and a bigger bun fight for the top 4 are possibilities but things could settle down and ultimately end up with a one or two horse race for the title. A more competitive, less predictable league would be good in many ways; other than our mental health.

It is a very strange time so the unexpected was kind of expected.

The problem with City is that we have set a trend of losing games that we shouldn't for very clear reasons. We have mot fully addressed those in the transfer market but we have still made what have the potential to be three very good signings. We also have a very talented squad when everyone is fit.

Pep has to fix things with what he has; it's a question of whether he can do it without feeling he has departed from his principles?

We live in interesting times.

Apologies if already posted but I found this tactical analysis quite revealing. Particularly the way Bielsa changed the flow of the game around Half time. It has always bemused me why Pep leaves his changes until very late. I've never really understood later substitutions, and from this analysis you would say the Fernandinho swap should have been 10 minutes earlier.

Not as bad as Pellegrini, especially in his last two years. He used to send players on literally five minutes from the end. And not simply to slow the match down. I always felt it was an insult to the players concerned.
Once, Mancini sent Edin on very, very late, and it worked spectacularly. West Brom away, result 2-1 to us. We were losing. One of the many reasons I'll always remember Edin with great affection is that bare-chested display by him in front of the away support. He looks absolutely, completely chuffed. He loved this club, and his time here. I'm not sure if blues always realise how much.

Think lots of teams will be glad to come away from Leeds with a point this season. Might not be the worst result

Good to see that people have got back onto an even keel. It took more than 100 pages, but still. Must discipline myself not to even look at the post-match thread until at least 24 hours, and preferably 48 hours, after the event. There isn't half a lot of unbalanced cock in the initial pages.
It's not really better when we win, either, actually.

Pre, match, and post match threads are best avoided. Attracts a certain type. Team pickers, player knockers, pep outers, and party poopers.-)

Emotions always run high no matter the score mate, best to let them pass in their own time before commenting in order to offer a balanced view.

That’s what I (try) to do anyway.

Dzeko was never the right fit at City. You build a team around that sort of player like Wolfsburg or Roma. He spooned numerous chances. Cardiff away was spectacular. Negredo came on and scored with his first touch.

The man I used to sit next to in 216 made a brilliant point that Dzeko scored four at Spurs (finally looked the business) and was then dropped for the next match. You wouldn't do that with Aguero or Tevez.

Of we had more of our shots on target, we most certainly would have won this game. But 22 shots of target is very bad. Especially considering the quality of our players we have.

What I want to know is what is Pep going to do about it. If we carry on like this and keep missing our chances by shooting wide or over. We will never win the Premier League or the Champions League.
