The match thread up until the second goal was truly a sight to behold. Luckily for us sane ones, the flappers disappeared "like a fart in the wind" after that.
The Rammy mile ain’t what it used to be is it!!!Well today was an emotionally packed day for me, as it's 12 months to the day since my brother John, aka Rammyblues departed this realm, so for me I wasn't worried about the performance, all that mattered was that we won, which we did. So well done City a great away win against a dirty dirty Leeds United. On the piss in Rammy tommorrow afternoon, going in some of our old haunts, well the ones that haven't been turned into cake shops, ice cream parlours or michelin starred restaurants....CTID
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch to Sky Sports: "Our fans were outstanding. The best performance tonight was our fans. The reason they were so into the match was they could see our boys played well.
"I don’t think it’s a 4-0 match. We contained a lot of their really good players. If we could find a goal at 1-0 or 2-0 we could have made it more interesting.
"We wanted to be aggressive in certain moments in wide areas. We felt we could push them up the field a bit more and they played some long balls. We defended well in most of the moments. For the majority of the game I felt like we were quite good and unfortunate not to come away with a smaller gap on the scoreline."
On the free-kick for the first goal: "First on I don't think is a foul but whatever.
"We know they’re good at set-pieces and get a lot of them.
"Our guys showed up today. From the 20th to 70th minute we were really good. But this is what high level football is. It’s not just about good performances, it’s about scoring goals and preventing goals. A lot of good stuff from us."
On injuries to Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper: "The Dallas one hurts [Leeds]. We think it’s probably not good. He has such a big heart and he's such a big part of the mentality of our team. That one we feel. We hope Coops isn’t that bad. He just felt something in his knee. Diego Llorente was feeling something.
"We’ll learn from today and can feel like we’re moving forward and making progress."
Oh my God, our fans know more about football than the Leeds manager. Then again Yanks know nothing about football compared to true Mancunians.Just back from Leeds. 10/10 for support from both sets of fans, reminiscent of days gone by.
4-0 flattered Leeds. Good performances from Sterling, Laporte, Dias. We were predictably wasteful, but can’t complain at 4-0. Thought we should have had a penalty, couple of shouts for a pen. Well done City…
Is it because they don’t clean their kits? ;)So does anyone know why Leeds are universally referred to as ‘Dirty bastard Leeds’?
Agree with you although they kicked us off the park first half. Agree re Raheem, he set t the tone first few minutes with a couple of incisive darts and played well throughout1st half was very poor.
2nd, we turned up, manned up and turned in a performance of Champions.
Thought Raheem was outstanding. Ran his ballbag off.
Absolutely it used to be challenging back in the day, especially if you threw in the Good Sam, Railway, Royal Oak and liberal club which we did.The Rammy mile ain’t what it used to be is it!!!
Cancelo and Grealish getting hung, drawn and quartered. Constructive criticism, I fully understand. Needless personal abuse, I never will get my head around.Glad to know that the match thread was down to its usual standard. Let me guess....team selection, defence all over the place, goal for them coming, league gone, get KDB and Silva on second half, this is on Pep etc
Don’t forget to put on your riot gear. Also put any notes in your socks ;)i'm over in liverpool tomorrow evening for a 50th bday party, one of my mrs's best mates. needed that fucking win today.
Arsenal…but brought up in Chapeltown and played for Leeds academyIsn't he a Leeds fan ?
He missed that relatively simple chance in the first half that could have been very costly. Fine margins and all that.Thought he did sweet f a. You could see on 77 and 89 minutes City players looking for an alternative to putting him through.
In the middle he changes games.3 assists from Foden today. The boy is special.
Don’t forget to put on your riot gear. Also put any notes in your socks ;)
Leeds fans are and will always be cuntsThat rubbish on the pitch were Ukrainian colours, really poor from the Leeds fans.
It's always a pleasure to visit the home of such a sporting, appreciative and knowledgeable set of fans. I can't understand how they committed 13 fouls to our 3, yet we got two yellow cards to their one when they eschew the crude physical game for a cultured, artistic approach.
Went to do Grealish and did himself. Shame.Personally thought the leeds player that was carried off should have been red carded. Instead they got to bring a sub on and he wasnt even booked !
