Leeds United (A) | Post Match Thread

In defence of both Neville and Tyler (not something I do easily, or indeed have ever done) they both called out Tierney's lack of whistle on more than one occasion and Neville was spot on when he said that Dallas' injury was down to poor refereeing beforehand.
Yes but what about..."and it's gone in. A goal for City. Yes it's a goal. From a free kick that possibly shouldn't have been given." Heard more excitement and enthusiasm at a wake.

The subtle difference though is they were calling him out for “letting things go and the game to flow”, whereas in reality he was letting things go so they could kick us relentlessly. So, bottom line, he’s a ****.

I thought Raheem and Rodri were superb today, Ake also played very well and Ruben makes us harder to get at. Raheem kept them on the back foot and his running with the ball was exceptional, Rodri did what Rodri does, he mops up, makes the game simple, he is really becoming an outstanding replacement for Ferna (great to see him score, he is a leader and now also our oldest PL scorer taking that accolade from super Frank.) and he could be the fulcrum for our midfield for years yet. He is getting better and better. A shout out for Jack too, he kept working, he kept stretching them and he riles other teams. Next season I expect Jack like Riyad did to make huge leaps forward. I watched today on Portuguese TV and the commentators likened Foden to Neymar, in a positive way, not the diving **** Neymar, that is high praise.

Today was tough, every game in the run in will be tough, but we have the quality to make small margins count in our favour.

Proud of our lads today and our fans were exceptional, gutted i wasn't there.

Really proud of the lads there. Cancelo aside, who was woeful, I thought they all showed real quality, grit and Grace Under Pressure.
Ake, Sterling, Rodders, Gabby, and Jack especially. Brilliant stuff!

As an aside, I heard Neville say if we lose midweek it would negatively affect our PL campaign.
I honestly think after seeing that, he’s talking double BS; if we go out midweek, I’m even more sure we’ll win our last 4 league games.

I don't disagree, and his disappointment with our first goal is astonishing:

But I don't think it unreasonable to point out a rare positive comment or two from them.

Edit to add he was pretty pissed off with our second as well.

I had the same problem with the first goal, there was no level of excitement. I had to change my glasses too as I just saw Rodri being congratulated.
With the muted reaction from Tyler i thought it had been disallowed for offside , he cant hide his disapointment but surprised at Ratboy you would think he would be rooting for us to prevent the Dippers 20th title

Did you hear the old git after Chelsea scored against united on Thursday! Have a listen if you can it was embarrassing.
Pity he wasn't commentating on the game last night, EDS v EFC, the women this morning, the U18s, and then the fellahs. From 7pm last night to just after 7pm tonight MCFC racked up thirty one goals! EDS 7-0, Women 7-2, U18s 13-0 and the fellahs 4-0! What a time to be a blue. How many seasons would a Stuart Pearce team have taken to score thirty one goals?

What is he saying?

Leeds boss Jesse Marsch to Sky Sports: "Our fans were outstanding. The best performance tonight was our fans. The reason they were so into the match was they could see our boys played well.

"I don’t think it’s a 4-0 match. We contained a lot of their really good players. If we could find a goal at 1-0 or 2-0 we could have made it more interesting.

"We wanted to be aggressive in certain moments in wide areas. We felt we could push them up the field a bit more and they played some long balls. We defended well in most of the moments. For the majority of the game I felt like we were quite good and unfortunate not to come away with a smaller gap on the scoreline."

On the free-kick for the first goal: "First on I don't think is a foul but whatever.

"We know they’re good at set-pieces and get a lot of them.

"Our guys showed up today. From the 20th to 70th minute we were really good. But this is what high level football is. It’s not just about good performances, it’s about scoring goals and preventing goals. A lot of good stuff from us."

On injuries to Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper: "The Dallas one hurts [Leeds]. We think it’s probably not good. He has such a big heart and he's such a big part of the mentality of our team. That one we feel. We hope Coops isn’t that bad. He just felt something in his knee. Diego Llorente was feeling something.

"We’ll learn from today and can feel like we’re moving forward and making progress."

I thought that the Sky interview question to Eric in the after match was loaded to get him to say he felt dizzy or something so they could rule him out for Wednesday, bastards considering English is not his first language.

Thought that too..
