Be nice to get a win and really play well, imo we havent played as we can in most of our games this season yet
It isn't must win in the sense that there are still 72 points left to play for, and I don't think if we lost tomorrow that means we are out of the title race. From now on every game is a must win game, how else do we claw back 8 points on Arsenal, and how is the title in our own hands? If we win our game in hand against Arsenal we're still 5 points behind. Right now it's in their hands and it's up to them to win or lose the title.
We cannot be complacent at any time from now till the end of the season.
Indeed.. one game at a time. Let's see where we are at the end of January. And even if we're still off the pace then, dear fellow Blues, there will be plenty of time to reel in The Tarquins! It isn't must win in the sense that there are still 72 points left to play for, and I don't think if we lost tomorrow that means we are out of the title race.
It is in our own hands because we don't need anyone else in the league to beat Arsenal for us to make up the points difference, given that we still need to play them twice (although that admittedly wouldn't be true if we lose tomorrow).
Not being complacent, I think we do need to win tomorrow for a bunch of reasons, but we made up a 7 point lead against a better Liverpool side when we only had to play them once. So mine is the case for keeping things calm and taking each game as it comes when it's still this early in the season.
It's also in our hands. Win tomorrow night, and we're 5 points behind. And we still have to play them twice. Win those two games, and match them for the remainder of the season, and we'll finish 1 point above them. As I said last night, we're more than capable of putting together a 10 game winning run when the pressure's on. Remember the 18/19 run in? I'm not sure if Arsenal can do that. From now on every game is a must win game, how else do we claw back 8 points on Arsenal, and how is the title in our own hands? Think defence will cost us this year!I’ve kind of already accepted that we might not win it this year as it’s impossible to win it every single year, so I’m not gonna get stressed about it. Champions league is the biggie for us this season
"Let's see where we are at at Christmas" this year is "let's see where we are at at Chinese New Year".Indeed.. one game at a time. Let's see where we are at the end of January. And even if we're still off the pace then, dear fellow Blues, there will be plenty of time to reel in The Tarquins!
I realise if we beat Arsenal twice it's (then) in our hands, providing we win enough games for that to happen. Yes, we are more than capable of putting a good run together, we've proven that in several title winning seasons. But right now we're playing catch up and must beat Leeds tomorrow to stay in contention. It's also in our hands. Win tomorrow night, and we're 5 points behind. And we still have to play them twice. It’s a must win not can’t lose! Can't lose game ....no pressure City lol!
Yup I’m the same, just hugely disappointing considering we landed HaalandI’ve kind of already accepted that we might not win it this year as it’s impossible to win it every single year, so I’m not gonna get stressed about it. Champions league is the biggie for us this season
Agreed. But there's not many better at reeling other sides in than us. 2012, 2014 and 2019. I still have faith in the team.I realise if we beat Arsenal twice it's (then) in our hands, providing we win enough games for that to happen.
