We scored from a corner

another woeful second half-been the same for 18 months.

midfield is a huge concern without Rodri and Kova.

defence was abysmal-both full backs hopeless.

Foden is having a wonderful season though.

WTF Nunes?
Nearly threw it away with the usual stupid errors at the back.
Having said that, Calvert Lewin is a great player, and a handful for any defender.
We were 2-0 up what was Nunes thinking about - put your foot through the ball, especially after a silly (blind) reverse path that gave them back possession. The whole game turned on that moment of idiocy. Gvardiol was also sloppy again - I think he needs a rest for a couple of games (or give Nico a rest and put him out on the left.
Also where was the leadership - we went missing as a collective in that 2nd half!!!

Centre backs simply aren’t good enough.
We’d get away with one of them if we had a Vinny next to them but we simply don’t.

Maybe it’s time to admit Dias just isn’t the player he hoped he would become, isn’t the same player he was and we need to look at replacing him.
Need a proper RB and at least 1 new CB, not a small slow ball playing defender, someone who can win headers and has pace

On a positive note we didn’t give up and we really pushed for the win. That counts for something and it’s what top sides do. After all, it was a couple of defensive errors that put us in trouble.
correct, god knows how many games liverpool won last season in the 90+ minutes, 4 points in it with arsenal to come to the Etihad and people think were not in a title race

Got to be happy with the win but this game burnt far more energy than it should have.
The lack of composure in the second half is worrying. We need rodders back asap - not a reflection on Nico who did well but a calming influence is needed.

Until the defence is sorted, the big picture won't change. Posters on here look at some of the clean sheets and seem to forget what they witnessed during the actual game. Halftime at Newcastle - 0-0 but Woltemade should have bagged a couple by then, if not a hat-trick.

Or the last 15 minutes today - the corner that just floated across the 6-yard line without anybody challenging for it, the (albeit very good) cross from the right that had everybody panicking, there was another unchallenged header from a similar spot to Leverkusen's 2nd goal etc... Notice I haven't mentioned the two glaring errors leading to their goals.

Nothing has changed in the past year, other than NOR making a really good stab at LB. Said it before, but the fact that we seriously bought Ait-Nouri as a full-back goes to show that nobody who matters took the defensive shambles of last year at all seriously.

I can't remember any team - maybe Brazil 1970 - who won anything while being so porous at the back.

(The lack of earlier subs today is another matter...)

There must be a plan - I suppose?

Second half they were all over us like a rash...no way we were calm in that situation...we sht a brick every attack...they were very unlucky not to draw...away from home..2 down when they are bottom of the league, all credit to them though,,,but we were more than a couple of errors type of team today..very worrying performance

A Sunday league standard ‘after you Claude’ goal for DCL, embarrassing beyond belief
