no they have been decent....Nunes has come on well and NOR is one of our best players.....BUT the fact that NOR is keeping uot the guy we paid for says it all about our recruitment.

Yes I also further upfield is no better as well....Sav is awful and we should have let him go....
It means that we have cover at left back and that O'Reilly has developed into a top class player.

Personally I think it's time to play O'Reilly as a midfielder. He's more than capable of doing it.

Donnarumma

Nunes Stones Dias Gvardiol

Nico G O'Reilly

Foden

Marmoush Haaland Doku
I regularly wonder whether O'Reilly can play further forward but he does play very well at left back.

Start of a massive week in the prem for us. 3 must win games for me to really distance ourselves from the teams below and put a bit of pressure on Arsenal. 4-0 win for me. Hopefully give a few a bit more of a rest and go full strength in the Fulham game midweek.
I am just thinking about getting back on track again and putting the defeat to Leverkusen behind us.

Khusanov was our best defender up until he got that injury at Arsenal away, he was performing at a really high level.

Gvardiol certainly hasn't been pulling up trees by any stretch of the imagination. The team could do with real physicality and pace introduced to the side and Khusanov brings both.

I know he wasn't great the other night against Leverkusen although he was only back from injury and basically playing in a second string side.
I like how City's squad is developing. We have Khusanov and Marmoush who are very strong players but who I struggle to put into the side. Stones, Dias and Gvardiol are top quality centrebacks regardless of what some people think. Perhaps they lack some pace which Khusanov has. It would not surprise me if Khusanov ends up as a regular centre-back for us by the end of the season.

Leeds were booed off by their fans at home to Villa with their fans singing 'You don't know what you're doing' but I thought they gave Villa a good game. If Leeds fans think Farke does not know what he's doing, what is their argument? They did very well to compete with Villa, they just don't have a Morgan Rogers. All the coach can do is get them organised and motivated, and they are.

Leeds are under pressure because they are in the bottom 3 and the struggling teams like Forest and West Ham are now picking up. And then there's the Sunderland miracle that might make Leeds think that if they can do it, why aren't we? Sunderland will drop in my opinion.

Need a win tomorrow and a good performance to get things back on track. Would be happy to see nobody from the starting 11 in midweek named in the line up tomorrow. I still have reservations about Nico G, can't quite get as excited as most others seem to be getting. A bit slow on the ball and wants too much time, IMO. Showing some promise, undoubtedly.
Where the heck is Rodri? Hardly seem to hear him mentioned these days which is worrying, a fit and firing Rodri would make a huge difference to this team which needs some direction on the pitch, not to mention a kick up the ares sometimes, something Rodri is not afraid of doing.
Wins in the next 3 are important.

I watched that match and didn't think there was that much between the sides, Villa had that little bit of individual quality which effectively decided the match.

It is more realistic to expect the reinforcement from Kovacic than waiting for Rodri at the moment. When Rodri is playing, his still has the high standard but you don’t know how long he can play.he will need a couple of years to get the muscle and ligaments ready. Kova has been dealing with his in-pain ankle all the time and he doesn’t use much time to get to the usual standard. Some are eager to off load Kova in Jan, but I don’t think it would be a wise move for city and I don’t think Pep has the plan to off load Kova either.

I watched all of Leeds ,Villa.

The effort of the Leeds team was top notch, but the lack of quality premier league players was all too evident.

They can only try to play a 6 x3x1 formation tomorrow, and hold out for as long as possible.

Their other issue is so many individual errors.

4-0. -:)

Heard that last game
Yeah, i know, and look what happened.
Can you believe it, we lost a game of football,
and the one before that, and not for the first time this season either, same as last season when we lost some games of football.
The world has ended and beds are a'wetting.

I mean, it's just not on, is it. we are entitled, don't you know.
We should never lose a game of football ever again.

This is all on pep guardiola,
or it's all the players - they're nearly all shite,
or it's all on the recruitment,
or it's all on drums being allowed into the ground,
or it's all on pigmol or VAR or 115 something,
because we should be winning every single game.

We should be winning the league, and more, every season.
We are a disgrace to the shirt.

It's just not fair, we can't even park in asda,
it's just not on, we need to complain about it.
If we lose this game against leeds we should start a petition.

This is manchersitty we're talking about.

Add to that Josko is far better at CB than as a LB

At his best he's a very good CB but with all the mistakes he's making at the moment, I'd rather him be on the left.

Also he was really good at LB. We were joking about winger Gvardiol etc. but he was getting up and down almost as effectively as Nico, and if Nico did go into midfield, I'd rather the backline was Gvardiol-Dias-Stones-Nunes than have Ait-Nouri in there.

I think you could make an argument that even if Nico is individually beter than Gvardiol, the team would be better with Nico in midfield and Gvardiol at LB.

Assuming Nico is as effective as a box to box midfielder as he is as a box to box LB, which I think he will be.

Don't think this is the game for it though, our midfield may be soft and slow but we are in serious trouble if the Liverpool lineup can't beat them at home.
