Sorry, my reply was aggressively sarcastic… but the idea that the club doesn’t have a network of available options is ludicrous. We certainly didn’t go into the window as Cucurella or bust. Have faith in the club - we couldn’t be run any better! I too, think the squad is light and we could do with a LB, but let’s not flap or pretend that you could see something coming that the club didn’t, that idea is impossible!

I wish you’d leave, feel free to desert us. Firstly you don’t have a clue which players we are looking at. Secondly would you seriously have paud what Brighton wanted, £63m, for a player you hadn’t heard of 12 months ago? Thirdly do you really think Oleks Zinchenko is a gifted left back? - a world class bloke, and a great squad player but not what we need at left back - he wanted more games so HE decided to leave, we will miss him but we couldn’t stop him leaving. Show me one post you made last season or the season before stating Oleks was a world class left back? Fourth, who the fuck is Jack Gaughan? He’s just another no nowt speculative journo who knows utterly fuck all about our targets, they all just spout made up bollocks to make it seem like they are in the know; he fucking isn’t. Sweeper. It’s an embarrassment that a club of our stature is going into the season without a recognised sweeper. We’ll never win in Europe until we can deploy all the fancy systems…Tbh I'm not that worried about it either. Players can play different positions.
Anyway what position's everyone going to moan about once we get the left back?

That's a disingenuous reading of what he tweeted and ignores what Jonathan Smith said - Cucurella was number 1, they haven't got a defined next in line but both have stated they are looking at other senior options as well as Gomez. They have been looking at numerous left backs for a while, so it's not true that Cucurella was the only target.
By what has been reported, a fairer reading would be that there are a few similar level targets, with varying strengths & injury records, and City haven't currently decided which to pursue.

City will have scouted a few full backs since Mendy’s problems. Cucu may have been number 1 but that went sideways. So now we may go onto another player we have probably been scouting for 1/2 seasons. Nothing is done in haste. Some posters make the clubs decision makers out to be dodgy insurance sales reps.
I suppose the reality is boring and does not generate clicks. So we end up with speculation and lies.

I like this game, cause if everyone moves up one then we can sell Mahrez and I can be 6th choice defender/midfielder/centre forward.If we get a LB, Cancelo will be able to play in midfield which will lessen the blow of losing Bernardo.
