Playing for a mid table team is not an indication of a players ability, also like I said he is a Spanish player and players from Spain as well as Italy tend to feel at home when they literally play at home. That's why players like Iniesta and Xavi played at home throughout their careers (yes they played for a mammoth team), again that's not a sign that they were crappy players but like you said, a player being rattled by the idea of playing in a different league isn't an endorsement, so on that point I agree with you but the fact that a player decides to play for a midtable team for his entire career is no indication of the players ability, Letissier comes to mind.Hes been there forever because hes not kicked onto the top level as a footballer.
If he does actually have a fear of other countries or leaving Valencia then thats hardly a ringing endorsement is it. He will be crying for Spain next summer and we will be forced to cut our losses and have some nonsense loan deal back to Valencia.
I don't see what relevance Terry, Gerrard or Totti have with this, they were all top class players playing at the highest level for club and country for several years. Perhaps Totti and Gerrard would have more trophies if they left their clubs but they won several titles during their careers and are well regarded as top footballers.
Unlike Gaya who has been battling mid table for the past several seasons.
