The next step in this escalation—and I am not joking—is for the club to launch it’s own shadow investigation of the referees, FA, and other involved parties.

There is evidence of corruption to be discovered and, once we have it, we will have a bit more influence on proceedings. It has happened before (Serie A, Eredivisie, Saudi Arabia, even the English top flight) and needs to be done here.

It would only work against the club’s interests and devalue the Shiekh’s investment if the information was made public, which I am not advocating.

There have been rumblings this may already be underway, anyway, so I am not saying anything especially outlandish.
