Absolute legend of the climbing world.

Joe did the first ascent of Cenotaph Corner (120ft, E1 5b/5.10b) at Dinas Cromlech, Llanberis Pass in Wales in 1952.

Joe, along with George Band were the first to climb the worlds third highest peak, Kangchenjunga in 1955.

Famous in his day (nothing like the plethora of fake celebs we have these days).

RIP Joe.
