Legends

Wouldn't say we have had any legends after 2000, however Swp, Aguero, Hart, Kompany, Zaba, Dunne, Yaya, Goater, Richards, Silva, Tevez are all more 'cult heroes' than Mario.

Mario is a legend

For the pass to Sergio alone

But his 2 goals at OT last season and especially his first are the stuff of legend and not one blue on here will ever forget that "why always me" shirt

Hart,Kompany,Zaba,Kun,Tevez,Barry,Dzeko,Tevez,Yaya,Milner

Everyone more worthy of legend status than Mario

surely it depends on your definition of legend because in my book there isn't 10 players since 2000 I would consider a club "legend". it's one of the most overused words in football imo, closest would be dunne and swp (although aguero is accredited with legendary status purely for that goal).

I still think Mario's first on that glorious afternoon is very under-rated.

If he'd hit it any harder, it would have gone wide, and any softer it would have been been saved or cleared, IMHO.

So, for starting the route that followed, Balo will always have a fond place in my memory.

But whether he is a legend, that has been discussed elsewhere.

All about opinions of course

But Mario's iconic why always me probably got City more publlcity worldwide than any other player in our history.

For me he will always be up there with my heroes Bell, Lake and Bernarbia

You are more than entitited to your opinion, got no big dissagremts, I'd nock 3 out

There are plenty in that list of 10 who are not worthy of legend status but that wasn't the question. But I would still have them in there before Mario as footballers.

Mario's possible legend status is nothing to do with his football achievments at City

My legends for City would be Bernarbia Rosler and Paul Power. Not Mario Balotelli, but he as been good for us when he could be bothered

My assumption is that by playing in a legendary side he thus becomes part of that legend.
So.at the very least his is a legend by proxy.

Yes, the assist alone for kun to clinch our title last season puts Balo up there. But IMO not legend status yet but certainly means a lot. Factor in the 2 goals at the swamp demolition and his direct part in the sending off of Evans which opened up the game for us, Balo did a lot of good for us. Even if it came with a lot of bad lol

Zabaleta well on his way to becoming a club legend. I am firm believer of players becoming legends after they retire, cult heroes since the turn of the century for me would be SWP, Yaya, Mario, Zab, Bellamy (For me anyway) and Vincent.

Now that Pellegrini has left it is time for the club to induct Roberto Mancini as an official Legend. Clearly one of the most important managers in our history what he achieved needs to be recognized by the club, much loved by the supporters he has more right than others such as Quinn. He said he would tier down the banner at the swap and he did it in style. Yes he had his short comings he's a diva and all that, but he but the club back on track and was the right man at the right time.
