Legends

Now that Pellegrini has left it is time for the club to induct Roberto Mancini as an official Legend. Clearly one of the most important managers in our history what he achieved needs to be recognized by the club, much loved by the supporters he has more right than others such as Quinn. He said he would tier down the banner at the swap and he did it in style. Yes he had his short comings he's a diva and all that, but he but the club back on track and was the right man at the right time.
Spot on.

Quinn got 'legendary' status for wearing some shit pants that resulted in a song and for running down the touchline v Liverpool.

Name me an important goal he ever scored or what he won - cheap status compared to others

Ten from the modern era-

Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Zabaleta, Touré, Hart, then SWP, Dickov, Goater and Richard Dunne.

How many of these even qualify as legends? But these are ten of the closest for me. Zabaleta has the best claim IMO because he's been a constant presence throughout the transformation of the club from mid-table to best in the league.

The saddest thing for me is that had we signed Fernandinho three years earlier he'd be on that list. That man deserves so much more credit than he gets.

If we're talking cult heroes, however, that's a very different list. Caballero tops it ;)

After 2000 give me 10 above mario, not on the wum here, just putting my own together
Sergio Aguero
Yaya Toure
David Silva
Shaun Goater
Vincent Kompany
Joe Hart
Ali Benarbia
Shaun Wright-Phillips
Richard Dunne
Pablo Zabaleta
Carlos Tevez
Nicolas Anelka
Micah Richards
James Milner
Edin Dzeko
Samir Nasri
Gareth Barry

Mario is a legend

For the pass to Sergio alone

But his 2 goals at OT last season and especially his first are the stuff of legend and not one blue on here will ever forget that "why always me" shirt

Mario is indeed a legend. A short term one, but in the time he was here he was clearly the stuff of legends.

Goals against the Rags, and that glorious, LEGENDARY pass to Sergioooooooooooooooo!

James Milner wouldn't get in any legend or hero list of mine, ungrateful weasel, glad to see he is enjoying his time playing centre mid every game at Liverpool

I feel the term legend cannot be used loosely, particularly when our existing legends came from decades of football. So on that account my vote is for Joey Barton.
