Leicester City (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Great support from the travelling Blues. Loud and Proud. A deserved win against a good Leicester team. First time we’ve got any breaks in a few months.

MOTM for me was the fans, the invisible man.

Fresh legs in McAtee won us the game, We need to play the young players because fresh legs over quality is sometimes all you need. You could see the struggle happening from the kick off in the 2nd half, Yes it could be mental strength of needing the win and panic set in but we could not get hold of the ball and we were chancing them around,

So fresh legs in youth is the way forward and get McAtee starting and add a couple more that will run all-day
Big 3 points and something to build from and the transfer window will be open and i hope to god we have 3 or 4 all ready to sign and come straight into the team

The Boys in Blue didn't give in, they fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. You showed 'em. You showed 'em all.
Especially that Leicester lot with VARdy fool. ;-)
Especially the know nowt so called media blockheads who wrote us off. Take that you nincompoops.
Especially the Specsavers needing, whistle blowing officials who are forever dunces and dolts and never remember that we are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

I told you we'd be back and this is the beginning of our fight back just watch us go now. :-)

All I need to make my euphoria complete is to hear that John Boy will be ok. :-)
I know you like Stones, but that lad is broken. Not sure we'll ever see him play a good run of games ever again. Only 30 and should have a good 3 or 4 seasons left but he's just broken too often. Shame really.

We are on the kind of run where it doesn't matter how you win you just have to win. We did that and kept a clean sheet too! A few new faces in January would be nice even if they are loans. A CB and a DM would be great and a right back if I'm being greedy. Let's hope this result starts turning things around.

If we could just get the defending more solid then having less of the possession probably suits us. Kev and haaland were extremely wasteful on the ball granted - but at least we looked way more of a threat and haaland was miles less isolated with spaces popping up all over.

Whether pep will be able to sacrifice possession is another thing - Rodri is probably responsible for 10% of it on his own and we dont have him this season.

Great result but the same issues are still glaringly there.

Positives - Savihnio played well. Bernardo did as well. Foden was at least trying to make things happen and Kovacic worked really hard (needs to just keep it simple though). Akanji was also decent. Haaland looked sharper.

Negatives the same - KDB is a hinderance defensively. he cant press from the front and cant get back so we are automatically a man down. He cant run through the middle anymore with the ball and is continually being dispossessed.
Rico as a fullback is ok (though we need better) - however in midfield he is too weak - people can point to one chipped ball over the top to help set up the haaland chance in the first half but he gets turned too easy and gives the ball away.
Gvardiols confidence has fallen off a cliff - he is playing very poorly every game

The midfield (and forward line) from a defensive perspective might as well not be there.....we cant press so why are we continuing to do so? It gets played around so easily.

Great win and really happy especially for Pep (he looked quite moved by the away fans chanting for him at the end of the game and good on Haaland sending Pep over to the fans btw)
However most other teams in the league would have got a positive result from that game today...we got a stroke of luck with the first goal and how Leicester didnt make more of their chances I just dont know - they were extremely poor upfront.

I know and hear (well read) what you are saying but being superstitious (which is bad for me really) I feel if I keep mentioning him it might help. Daft I know and also know it won't happen but that's me. Daft as a brush and twice as ugly. *lol* (my Mum used to say that to me.)
