Leicester City (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

This result is good for confidence, but the performance from some was dreadful, Phil most of all for me, yes he had the shot that led to us taking the lead, but I was pleased when he was taken, didn't really attack, and couldn't be arsed helping defensively.

Sainho's best game after the poor effort against Everton, Bernardo worked hard (but
miles off his best), Ake as always (hope it's the same fatigue as Thursday), Lewis good in bits, poor in others, Haaland worked harder than normal, but it's currently quite a low bar, hopefully the goal will boost his confidence. Kovacic did well enough in the one man midfield, but he's not Rodri (nor close).

Akanji is out of form, but I trust him, Gvardiol goes from the sublime to the ridiculous. KdB still tries his best, but it's gone for me, some of his passes were terrible, even the short ones.

The overall thing today that stood out to me was our giving the ball away, and our lack of composure in possession is a real worry.

The big positive was McAtee, not lumbered by the recent form.
Agreed. Regarding possession and regaining it the loss of Rodri is telling. I thought Leicester would equalise at some point but we got through it and McAtee provided the impetus. Got to sign at least a good DM in the window if we are to finish in the top 4 and a qualifying CL spot

So you didnt go back and read...proves my point....I listed a number of positives...maybe take a look at yourself and your own mindset (defensive, aggressive whatever) as you clearly ignored the positives I put and would rather just have a pop at someone .....KDB was poor....he has been all season and today was no different
I also said a number of players played well but yet again you either can not read or chose to focus on the negatives which is ironic as thats what you are saying Im doing.....

Happy new year
Read plenty of your posts..always have a negative slant..you never seem to enjoy anything we do..as I said I hope your support at the ground is better than your posts on here
As for my mindset I will stick up for my club always..

Fun Fact of the day, The reporter on the BBC Football website was a scottish bloke asking for someone to steal his toilet........Nick Mashiter.
I mentioned his name on bbc website. Apparently my interpretation of his name was not up to their woke standards.

The thing is with Lewis. He is undoubtedly fantastic with the ball at his feet, however in my honest opinion, he lacks the physical presence and positional awareness to be a high level defender or even a holding midfielder. Much better suited as a 10 but obviously pep knows more than I do so I blindly trust him and hope he will improve defensively
I thought he was solid today tbh

Steady on pal.
I'm all for been optimistic but we would finish above dipperpool if we were level on points now never mind 11 behind

Yeah, De Bruyne is far from being the player he once was, but his presence seems to inspire others .... Foden , great shot from range, but little else from him ..... Gvardiol once again really poor, bottom of the MEN player ratings ..... Akanji has been better in days gone by.

Haaland was more prominent than usual , good goal too ....McAtee did very well when he came on, Kovacic did okay throughout ...... it certainly wasn't the greatest performance from City, but neither was the one from Leicester, and at least we got the goals to win it.

Good summary. Alsothought it paid off having Savinho on that left side so it fell to his natural foot and bingo shoots first time , we were spared one of the others working it back on to their right and looking for a pass.
Gvardiol made more than one error .... the MEN have only rated his performance 5/10.

That must be because you only read the negative parts like you clearly have done here...you cant even acknowledge there was a positive part of the post that actually came first.....
Mindset has nothing to do with sticking up for your club or not (thats the result or action from the midseet)....its about how you interpret information/actions.....clearly you look for the negative...maybe because you are defensive of the club...but there is no need to be. The criticism you have focussed on is just as valid as the positives that you clearly missed.
Merry Xmas

Think we looked much stronger without Doku, he’s just no end product, yet anyway , and we lose too much possession with him in the team, he’s got potential for the future but he’s not there yet

Haaland definitely remembered where he'd put his mojo!
Guardiol tried his best to maintain his ratio of assists, thankfully he just failed.

Think Kovacic is the big difference at present from what we were seeing.....he has energy at least when moving forward....He is carrying the ball forward at least and making positive runs. he aint creative or a goal scorer - but then again he never has been so thats fine - but it is him providing a lot of energy in the middle of the park
Agree on Gvardiol - he seems to be having a big confidence crisis....but we know there is a very good player there.

Come on, I hate the fuckers too, but they're head and shoulders above everyone else in England this season on basically every metric.
That's the reality at the moment. But Pep had a glint in his eye by the end there and he will know what to do going forward. We need to be in a position where we are competitive and very difficult to beat. Buy a player or two in the coming window and it can give us that platform.

Merry Christmas to you too

Was literally just thinking that Pep at the end had the look of someone who is going to have A LOT of fun making everyone eat their words again next season.

This creeping Rico bashing is doing my nut in.

He’s a 19 year old kid ffs not the finished article 26 year old. He’s learning and yes he’ll make mistakes and make poor decisions at times.

Had we transfer planned properly and brought 2 CMs in he’d only be a playing here and there and being given the chance to feel his way into top level PL football.

I absolutely love his attitude and he always gives 100% and there’s not many you can say that about this season. You can see it hurts him when it doesn’t go his/our way whereas some of them don’t look one bit arsed.
