Leicester City (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Well, that was a boring match and a half, wasn't it?
But if that is so, it is on Leicester. That is the honest truth. Over and over again, over the last seven years or so, we've had to play against teams — especially at the Etihad, but I've even seen it on their own grounds — offering nothing other than the lowest of low blocks. The summit of their ambition has been to get eleven men behind the ball as soon as we have it. Leicester had literally nothing to offer other than that.
But what does my head in is this. You see these teams losing 2-0, actually playing as if they think they're defending something. As if they think they have something to defend. At no point do they come out and give it a go, despite the fact that they're losing, and they're going down.
I never thought I'd find myself saying this, but I'm glad such teams are relegated. I honestly cannot blame our lads for not being able to get through that forest of legs and bodies. It was not Nottingham Forest tonight. It was Leicester Forest. Not Brazil 1970, not Jairzino, Pele, Tostao and all the rest of them could have got through it.

We won, we forget this match, we move on. At least United are unlikely to play a low block. They don't even know how to do it, do they?

Result was what the most important thing here

Should of done more though

We really play some fucking horrible anti-football. The game against United at the weekend has the chance to be the worst quality game of the season.

Ran away with it early on so Leicester went into damage limitation mode.

We've got a big game on Sunday and we've just come off a big game so we weren't gonna push it.

No Pep on the touchline either so you can understand why we took our foot off the gas a bit.

Nice nights for Grealish, Marmoush, and O'Reilly. Happy for Bobb and the reception he got.

Most games at home are boring due to the lack of willingness from opponents ( not all mind you) to play football, our limitations to create, and therefore a lack of atmosphere.
Catenaccio nowadays is seen as clever defending.

But heeh, we won. Now lets get to the swamp and take 3 points.

It was a completely boring game and one I'm glad I couldn't get a ticket for. I wouldn't have wanted to have paid to have watched that, it was boring. I was glad I was working whilst it was on as I got paid to work and didn't have to pay to watch the game or even concentrate on it. I'm glad we won of course, but let's be honest we've learnt nothing from beating a very poor team tonight.

Leicester were dreadful. What's the point of playing to get beat 2-0? We have been dreadful at the back so wouldn't you think they'd at least try to put us under some pressure with some pace and direct running? Look at Elanga's goal last night for example.

Football is supposed to be exciting, but I feel sorry for anyone who endured that tonight.

Even Savinho's reaction to the Bobb reception was lovely - good to see the team spirit there

Don't feel sorry for me. I very rarely go to games because of work commitments etc...

Managed to bag a couple of tickets tonight courtesy of @Winnie20

Loved every minute.
