Just bizarre that the club saw what our central midfield was like at times last season (and today) with either Gundo and/or Rodri and they seem to be pleased with it.

They both cant do the things Fernandinho does so well.

This league needs energy and non stop running in midfield. They give neither and it costs us like it has done today.

We had a great left winger but Pep dropped him to make s point. Other than Kev, Ssne was our next best signing

Sane made our team with his pace I’d have him over sterling any day of the week

sorry to say that was the worst City performance I have seen.
Someone clearly turned the defensive setting from ’good’ to ,west brom’ level.
There seems to be a lot wrong at the moment as the players just looked like they were not really bothered & it was a very dis-jointed performance.

I don't mean panic buy but it might make us push the button on some targets we've been dithering about, Aouar being an example

We shouldn't need to panic buy: we should have a list of potential targets for every position in the team and, as you say, we should be bale to push the button on a couple of them.

Bernardo has the potential - 1 great season doesn’t elevate him to legend status. Not a first name on the sheet like those I’ve mentioned.

Sane - could have been but similar to Bernardo and he was here for 4 years. 1 of which injured.

Mahrez - zero consistency over one season to be classed as a legend.

Laporte - potentially yes but he’s not done enough yet as he’s been injured a lot in the 3 seasons he’s been here.

Walker - I’ll give you. A lot wouldn’t though.

Granted there’s still time for them to earn the status that the others have but if you think any of the aforementioned are near the status of those I have mentioned then it’s you who is the crank.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have expected Pep to have delivered another Aguero, Kompany or Silva in 5 years with what he’s spent. Yes he’s bought some great players but personally other than Ederson (and maybe Walker) none legendary in my eyes of yet.

Lost 6 in 2 seasons with Ferna in midfield. Now lost 10 in 39 games without him there (gonna inc today as the problem was so obvious when he went off).

We obviously can’t expect him to play a season in there but the middle of the pitch is our biggest problem and Pep has to admit the mistake in thinking Rodri is the answer.

Our biggest vulnerability is counter attack. Our slowest player has responsibility for stopping it.

1 defeat in 4 without Ferna in the middle of a team that previously accrued nearly 200 points over 2 seasons.
