Leicester City (H) - Post-Match Thread

I know it’s time to give gifts but we went a bit too far today. Funny that we were able to drag Liverpool fans out of shark filled water into our boat and then throw them overboard again.

If we don't win the title it won't be because we won a game 6-3
Yes that's the point I'm making. It was a stupidly fun game of football that made no sense and will therefore be easy for people to project their biases onto when all comes out in the wash, even though it won't actually have any bearing on what happens in the future (apart from the three points of course).

Similar to the Leipzig game at the Etihad great in attack crap defensively with the same scorline in the end, anyway a win is a win and I hope the lads learn not to get complacent, especially with two tough away games coming.

- We really missed Rodri and Walker today. Ferna, god love him, struggles and we lost control of the middle. Still, Laporte and Dias should both have done better, but I don't think this game tells us much apart from Rodri has quietly become one of our most important players and Walker, despite all the hype of the attacking full backs, is one of the best defenders in the league.

- Everyone was guilty of being much too sloppy in that weird 15 minutes. We've been so good at pressing to the end and we just completely dropped off. Lots for Pep to work on there. Though not sure why Pep didn't do something about their clear change in tactics.

- We probably could have scored 7 or 8. What a weird game of football. I suppose, what with covid and the mismatched teams and fixture pile up, this won't be the first or last game that has a weird vibe to it. Reminds me a bit of the first quarter of the season when games were being played beind closed doors. As long as you are on the winning end of them it won't matter too much come the end of the season.

- Sterling back to his best, particularly in the first half. Good to see.

- 6 points clear. Do you think the rest of the league are starting to get worried? That was us on a bad day.

On course to 100 goals in the league. And 94 pts.

The 3 goals we conceded will hopefully help us avoid complacency. And will give Leicester courage vs Liverpool.
It's strange because they went to a back give against Liverpool at HT and they got done big time. They done it again today and it worked.

Raz kept playing

He did indeed. Very striking to see him tracking back when they were on yet another of their counter attacks and snaffle the ball from the defender. Good in attack and defence.
Ed very unlucky on that goal off the crossbar. He'd done everything that could reasonably be expected of him. Was it Laporte who failed to deal with it?

We need to manage Dinho to the end of the season. Rodri should be playing 65/70 minute games and Dinho closing them out, not playing 90 mins. But will Pepe listen? No.
Maybe saving Rodri from another booking.

this kind of game gundo should be nowhere near the game. it his because of his lack of legs in midfield that we were so open
Think he would have been ok with Rodri (or at least he has been most games). Not sure KDB was any better defensively either. Just left us with a very slow midfield.

We conceded a sloppy three but scored 6 and could have had more.

Rag inlaws slinked out of their rooms to catch the game when it went 4-3. Typical rags

Enjoyed Fernandinho's gratuitous kick at Maddison(?) near the end. Good lad.
Haha highlight of the day! If we rewind a few minutes back Maddison took Ferny out a few seconds later Choudury took Ferny out and he got pissed off...I was thinking Ferny is going to leave one in on somebody and turned out it was Maddison which was sweet.

3 goals in 10 minutes, every time Leicester get a result against us something like that happens. The difference is we are now in a different class so we can counteract that.
