Well that’s just appeasing the requirement for ‘good telly’. Winning 5-0 is a bit boring for most viewers, so they want a bit of tension.

He got a solid hand to it but needed more immediate elevation on his deflection to get it over the bar. I thought as much at the game yesterday and watching Maddison's free kick on Sky I think he could have done the same with that too.

I think the freekick one was fair enough, ideally you like to see it palmed over but he did well to get to the kick IMO, the second was very unlucky as well, it hit the bar at the end of the day but of the two it was the weaker effort.

Still nobody mentioning Kaspers weak palm out for one of our goals :)

After their 3rd goal, why was there not a VAR review for the penalty against Laporte about 30 seconds earlier, it was almost exactly the same as the earlier one.

It couldn't be because the officials/tv saw an opportunity of having a fairytale.

I don't think I agree with it, but if I recall the ref made a very clear signal that it was no foul in his opinion. So unless VAR thought there was something really obvious that had been missed it was never getting overturned.

He did brilliantly to get anywhere near either. He was intending to do exactly what you said but easier said than done if the shot is hard enough.
Pretty ridiculous to single him out compared to the other non-performances imo

I personally don’t think he did brilliantly for both. The free kick was close to middle and he had a perfect starting position for the third goal, I feel both of them should have been tipped over the bar.

Nonetheless I doubt this is a problem and there is nothing to discuss, most of the saves he would make would go over the bar

Two crackers yesterday.They must have been practising
