Looks like it. We didn't exactly defend united's counter attacks well when Rodri started instead of Gundogan. I think Bernardo's energy in midfield will make a difference.Honestly, dropping Rodri for Gubdogan in this game is one of Peps most surprising moves ever IMO
The most counter attacking, breaking at pace side in the the country and be drops the defensive mid for Gundogan.
Is he basically saying we're fucked defending counters anyway so at least Gundo will help us keep possession?

I am staggered Mahrez gets a start after his performance in the league cup.
Rodris slow as feck, but he brings physicality, defensive awareness, height and the occasional forward pass. The problem with him this season is that it has been no legs around him, trust me Fernandinho would have struggled in the same conditions.Surprised to see no Rodrigo but I quite like putting Bernardo more central. Got to press them hard with a high defensive line to stop then passing too easily through the midfield. It carries risks but if we drop deeper defensively to protect against their pace (as we did against the rags) then they will just cut straight through us.
Rodrigo perhaps isn't at peak fitness and he isn't that much more mobile than Gundogan.
