Leicester City Thread

There's an article in the Mirror that was forwarded to me this morning, John Cross writing about our '115 charges,' apparently. Haven't had a look so forewarned, it might be clickbait for the ABC (Anyone But City) brigade.

*NOT*

Leicester City have a history of overspending/ financial mismanagement, they went into administration in 2003, and the club had to be rescued by a consortium of new owners which included Gary Lineker.
I remember at the time that the owners were considering giving the rescued club a new name ( like when Leeds City became Leeds United), and one of the names they came up with was Leicester Fosse, because The old Roman road was called The Fosse Way,and it went from Exeter to Lincoln, via Leicester.
And because they came back as a phoenix club unencumbered with any debt it was deemed unfair by the football authorities, and points deductions were introduced for clubs going into administration.
So you reap what you sow.

Leicester City were previously called Leicester Fosse, and supporters were asked if they wanted the club to revert to the old name.

Funny how United Fudge £65million in Covid Allowances to save them from PSR points deductions
What was the agreed amount that all the others could claim in COVID allowances ? I would be all over this if I were Leicester City
Leicester in particular have a love in with united they wouldn't dare rock their favourite second team

Leicester Appeal

Leicester are appealing against the 6 point deduction. It does seem unfair considering they are being punished by the Premier League when they aren’t even a member and could get relegated to First Division.

Be a shame if the EFL call it frivolous and add another 6 points to the punishment.

It's not looking good for the Foxes at this moment in time
What a turnaround in their fortunes in this last 10 years.
From Premier League Champions via FA Cup winners, relegation to The Championship and then finally relegated again, to what is in effect on the 3rd tier of English football.
Walkers Crisps and Gary Lineker can go fuck themselves.

All I'll say on Leicester is they've gone pop twice, once directly benefiting them winning the league and that's without the very dodgy upturn in performance.

Proven cheats financially and made few friends locally with the pay out to businesses of X pennies in the £.

However, the away days there were always a great day out even going back to the banana days.

Worth bumping with chat in the Championship breaking out around their predicament.

Players still on huge wages in League 1 is going to put them in a financial mess.

Probably all worth it for the success they had but who knows what lies ahead.
