Leicester (N) - Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

I didn’t think it was a penalty, as Nacho pulled Nathan back, causing Aké to fall and catch Kelechi's legs. It was a foul, but to City, not against.

On a positive note, though, it was a good workout for the boys, especially Palmer and Edozie. Neither looked out of place and both deserve their place in the senior squad.
Yes, never a Ake Bic pen, just like phantom one he gave away at Newcastle last season, They see what they want to see when they can stick the media fed bias , right up us.

In a weird way the Leicester goal saved us embarrassing ourselves in a penalty shootout because I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have practiced them.
Pep needs to appreciate that many fans travel a long way at great expense to watch City in semis and Finals and maybe he could take it as seriously as they do. Asking for a friend who is down £300.

What do you mean by Pep should take it more seriously? I can’t stand this narrative, like Pep goes in to games to lose.

Aké seems to have one or two fuck-ups in him each game. Hopefully something that can be fixed. Not a great game but not awful either. Still think we’ll have a very successful season ahead. Can’t wait for it to start.
Rodri passed him the worst ball of the day he had 1 second to act, Rodri is a big problem reason why Fernandinio has been given another 12 months I recon Pep was looking at replacing Dino but decided to go with the same 2 with young Lavia if required
We need all out ££££ for Kane after bagging Grealish
Zinchenko & Cancelo will cover LB with Mendy only playing if desperate he isn't good enough

It was a friendly but the kids struggled, Mendy was poor, Dino wasn't in it with 20 to go, Rodri was just Rodri
We have a bag full to come back yes but unless we get Kane then we miss a trick big time

1 chance on goal which was a free kick

Maguire, Rice, Pickford, Phillips all played for there clubs today??

Of course you never want to lose, but i'm fairly happy with the game overall. Leicester is a top 4/5 team and were pretty much full strength, so for us to play like that with a lot of players not there and a few young lads, I'm pretty happy.

It was nice to just see jack on the field and get a glimpse of him playing for us.

Palmer and Edozie started a bit nervous, but i felt they really grew into the game and started to really give a problem to the Leicester players.

Couple of the more experienced players were a bit sloppy, but this is still considered a pre season game and the pace of the play and the tempo in which it was played will really benefit the players.

Onto next Sunday we go.

.
Can someone explain the advantage process to me on the penalty, the player goes 1v1 and has his on target shot saved. If it goes in that's a goal, but if he saves it or he misses it's a penalty? Surely he has the opportunity it should be play on. If this was outside the box and the player shot and missed they wouldn't go back for a freekick
Great point, it was fucking bullshit and anyone who says otherwise is a fucking idiot.

No way in a million years do we get a second bite with the award of a penalty.

Seeing Steffan and Ruben celebrating the save as they do was tremendous only for them and us to be told by the ref you've made yourselves look a right pair of cunts as I'm only allowing a goal or awarding a penalty no matter what you've done.

Don't expect any media outcry or rewriting of the rules anytime soon (as in Villa last season when we scored a legitimate goal) because it went against us.

Refereeing in England is shithouse.

And another thing, Pep gets booked for questioning why Palmer in full flight about to head the ball gets deliberately knocked off balance which affected his fall. Yet BR twats a water bottle 20 yards down the line and clearly seen on TV and not a word.

Nowt against BR but Pep wouldn't have got away with that.
