Leicester (N) - Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

All in all I enjoyed the game. It was great to be back watching in a crowd of singing fans.

Bearing in mind that Leicester played their strongest team & had first team squad players on the bench too, we did really well with a very weak team. Gave the academy players a proper run out in a widely broadcasted game (as many fans have been demanding) and we held out until an 89th minute pen. We could have won if we’d taken our chances. Kids got better in second half so - things are looking good.

Grealish will get booed at the majority of grounds this season. Why? Jealousy, pure and simple. If he cost £20m and wasn't a significant signing, he wouldn't get booed. He didn't though, he cost £100m, is the new poster boy, a signing with as much publicity seen in recent times. With that comes jealousy and that is projected by way of booing.

Grealish will fucking love it.

As predicted plenty of doom and gloomers delighted with yesterday’s result.
Given the fact we were missing Ederson, Walker, Stones, Zinchenko, Sterling, KDB, Foden, Jesus and that Rodri and Grealish are clearly not yet fit I thought we actually did pretty well.
That was a B team against a full strength (Fofana except) foxes team who will most definitely be challenging for Champions league places this season.
Give your head a wobble you lot!
With the addition of Kane we are going to be phenomenal this season.

Agenda yesterday.
Tierney books Pep for berating the 4th official whilst wearing a similar coloured T-shirt to City's kit (something that ITV just wouldn't let go of) while little Brendan gets just a word for using his Cuban heels to smash a water bottle into the crowd.
Welcome back to a new season City

I have seen nothing from Ake to suggest he is anywhere near good enough for us on so many levels.

He can only play left side of the pairing and still can't pass wide of himself.

He's slow, positionally poor, and the game at Newcastle last season gave me concerns.

We will drop a major bollock allowing Laporte to leave instead of Ake, who was only ever bought because the club thought Stones would be leaving and Dias would be the right side of a Laporte pairing.

The third centre back and the continued reliance on Fern's legs could cost us dear.

I know he is young, has time, his advocates, but I also see little in Torres?

He's not quick, he doesn't beat a man with trickery, we initially bought him as a winger, but even down the middle, you forget he is even on the pitch in the large majority of games.

Perhaps diplomatic for me to just say not my cup of tea and think people possibly overly optimistic he can be relied upon to be a back up striker, because he can't cut it out wide?

Some very worrying points re Ake & Ferran. I can’t see them being moved on so soon. We have far too many happy squad players but they lack the required skills to win matches.

I don’t see anything in torres at all not a RW or a striker he looks to timid and scared, looks like a Ed’s player not a international player.
