Leicester post match thread

One thing is certain - Yaya deserves a one year contract , plenty of fight and desire and quality from him , we look miles away from being a title winning side-Aguero should start every game when fit and Jesus is the one to rotate with Sane and Sterling until he finds his feet next season- he was very average yesterday and to expect him to tear it up at the expense of Sergio leaving will be the biggest mistake this club has made since the takeover, a gritty performance but very average at the same time.

Motty suggested Sane made the most of the contact on the pen! He was running full pelt and taken out for goodness sake!

did he say the same about mahrez as he was more dramatic, both stonewall pens by the way.

and he had clichy on toast most of the game, taxi for clichy!!

Jesus is nowhere near fit.

The player we saw pre injury, 3 yards faster & likely to score at any second, is the player he actually is, not the current 'veteran' version, which is the player he will be when he's 35.

they say refs decisions even them selves out over a season so we got one 50 50 yesterday. 15 pens and 3 offsides to come in our last two games

I don't think WIlly had much to do. It was a very scappy 2nd half with City not knowing whether to attack of defend. I thought Mahrez was quality. Vardy a bit disappointing. They are a good team though. Obviously still a team used to winning, and don't give up. At the end their players sunk to their knees, they were gutted. You don't see that very often.
Willy had no chance for their goal, and was actually going the right way for the penalty too, and I agree he wasn't too bothered throughout the match either. However, it can't be denied that we lost our composure and shape and succumbed to LCFC's long ball's over the top into the channels.

When LCFC resorted to this tactic, this is when we should have tried to regain and retain possession in non dangerous areas, so giving us time to regain our composure. Did you noticed how high they squeezed us and the high defensive line they took up too? It was a high risk strategy from them, but there were several times when we went to break on them & either played the wrong ball or lost possession. Our composure was gone, and this is probably the first time I can say I've seen this happen under Pep for a sustained period.

My take on it is that finishing 3rd/4th was weighing heavily on our minds and whilst we were still attempting to play football, qualification for the CL wasn't too far away from the front of our thought process. It was a nervy 2nd half, but we got over the line...... JUST! So all's good.

They play to their limitations.
A rag keeper who kicks long.
An ugly centre forward who can run fast.
A shifty Algerian who plays 1in 6 games.
8 other cloggers.

How many points did we finish behind them last season ?? Disgraceful.

Agreed.

A good rest, pre season & conditioning for the lad.

18 goals for him next season.

Pep felt he was fit enough for 80 minutes so perhaps not that unfit, sixty minutes was enough for him, the point still stands letting Sergio go will be a massive mistake, subbing off Sterling was absolutely the right decision yesterday but it was twenty minutes too late , they are a great foil for each other when both on the pitch, the team lacks natural clinical goal scorers , Sterling and Kev certainly are not.
