I hope so, I rate him as the best left back in the league.

With mancinis record of brining in defenders from outside the prem league and them not working out, I think he'd go with the safe choice of someone whos already here.

I know it's all about opinions but as long as Ashley Cole's about, their needn't be any discussion lol

agree with this, dont think getting baines is a move forward

I can't see Everton ever wanting to do business with us again after the Lescott saga.
Also, if we did get him, we'd end up paying a price for him which would be way too much and he'd never live up to it, and he'd probably have the fans on his back as a result. I'd rather give Kolarov another full season, a bit harsh to try and replace someone after just one season in a new league in a new country. He might well come good next season.

I remember thinking Bridge would be a great signing, he wasn't. I'd be slightly concerned Baines might go the same way.
Business is business my friend. If your to believe the rumour with SWP, then it's business. Jo was loaned to them(business). Moyes is a horrible **** and will milk what ever situation is put before him to deflect attention away from his own frailtys. Business will be made, have no doubt about it mate.

Hmm, yeah, I see what you mean, ultimately, if it's in Everton's best interests, they'll sell him to us. But I think it would end up being a situation where it is far better business for Everton than City, and it would be qutie a long process, something which it would be nice to avoid.

But, at the end of the day, I don't think we should be signing him anyway. We have Kolarov and he deserves more time.

Remember mate, we own alot of deadwood. Moyes is aware of this, he's a scot. If Baines is a target, then this will happen reqardless, but Moyes will play hardball.

I think maxwell could be a decent backup and push kola.No need to spend 15m on baines kola will be much better in time.

I tend to think if Baines was from a lower league or heck any other mid table team but Everton, he might be welcomed by more of the posters on here. Just something about Dippers and Moyes some people cant stand. (yes I know why they cant stand him)

Someone on a different thread asked once why there was no thread on Leighton Baines, well this should make him happy. :)

A Leighton Baines effing thread!

When Everton beat us recently he was the only player that I'd have had at City. Not only was his work rate tremendous he delivered quality balls again and again. I know we all hate Everton but don't let that cloud your vision - he's good and he could flourish with us.
