I think he's a worse version of Kolarov... Baines' defending isn't up to much either and I think Kolarov's free-kicks and crosses are better.

A like for like change seems pretty pointless to me, we need something we haven't got.

It'd be a good signing, he's better than Kolarov in most departments and while I admire Kolarov's Passion he's simply not good enough. Baines and Clichy as rotational LBs greatly appeals.

Pointless signing, if we really want an out and out left back to backup clichy we may as well keep kolaorv. If we sell kolarov then I would just use zaba as back up or sign someone like alba who can play multiple positions.

IMO Baines is more consistent than Kolorov, particularly on set pieces. However Moyes has waged a war of vitriolic hate against us since Lescott.
I cant see this happening unless Moyes moves on.

Yeah, a defence that has Kompany, Richards, Clichy, Zabaleta, Lescott who are all good DEFENDERS.

Yeah, a defence that has Kompany, Richards, Clichy, Zabaleta, Lescott who are all good DEFENDERS.

I'm sorry but you are the first person I know that doesn't see fault in Kolarov's defensive abilities.

I don't see many faults either. "He doesn't defend very well" isn't a very good analysis.

The only weakness he has is that he is not as quick as full backs like Clichy and Cole, but positioning, reading the game and tackling are just as important. By the end of the season, Mancini settled on Clichy who was outstanding, but for much of the season there wasn't much between the players.
