Leona Lewis cover of Stop Crying your Heart Out

Dont get me wrong she has a great voice, but she made that song depressing, with the oasis version it motivates me. same with that snow patrol cover she did, she needs to write some of her own shit and sing me to sleep with it.

Must admit when I first heard the Oasis version I hated the song but it has grown on me to the point it's in my top few songs after the stuff on Definatley Maybe and Whats the story. Much as I do rate her as a singer (Mrs loves her music) I do think this is possibly one of the worst covers ever done when compared to the original

This is so much better

sorry pal - only opinion obv - but i couldnt disagree more - i have every oasis album and many many B-sides - love the band - saw their last concert - saw em in manchester at the park and saw them in cardiff (only 19 like so no further back)

but i think leona's cover is excellent - her voice control and variations are exceptional and and the message of the song comes across a treat. - great song the original but i would never in a million years say this was a bad cover.

It's a good Leona Lewis song, it's a completely different style, so you can't really compare it to the origional.

What did you expect? A Manc accent and electric guitars?

Very soothing version of the song.

I saw it tonight for the first time on the X-factor - at first I thought it was Run by Snow Patrol. Very similar type of cover and I prefer the original.

Leona is a true star but she ain't Beyonce and these covers she's churning out are proof of that.

Its good to hear a variation on a theme, i thought Leona did a superb cover, she changed the intent of the song, made it soulful and (to quote Chris Rea) shone new light through an old window.

But to compare it to the original is frankly silly. Any song can be changed from the original, some changes are subtle, some are crass. Some work and some dont, how many threads have we seen on cover versions on Bluemoon alone?

The fact is, love em or hate em, Oasis wrote some incredible music and lyrics, and this will not by any stretch be last one, and its a tribute to them for that.

Awful, all of leona's songs are depressing, has she ever done an up beat song? she like westlife, every song sounds the same!

on a positive note, i'd slip her one.

Better in time and Forgive me were quite up beat and she's got a few songs on her new album that are upbeat

Everyones entitled to their own opinion but for me Leona's performance last night was excellent especially in the second half of the song
